"DW Does It Again!!!"

Feature:
comes with allen screws and extra beater weights, which helps, because it takes a while to get used to how light the beater is due to it being aluminum and foam.

Quality:
It's DW!

Value:
A little pricy, but still, well worth the money!!

Desirability:
It is anodized red and black, the sexiest colors on the market!

Sound:
An absolutely genious design. Soft foam for a felt beater sound without that ugly rattle you get with a plastic or wood beater yet when you kick hard, you get the click of a wood or plastic beater from the aluminum insert. great for metal or jazz. I own 2 sets!!!

Support:
I had these on backorder for months, but it was well worth it!

Overall:
I already have backups in packages. I will never use another beater!!

"Killer sounding beater, good for versatile music."

Feature:
High quiality and Lightweight with adjustable ballast weights.

Quality:
I bought two, one was missing a setscrew ;(

Value:
worth it for sure

Desirability:
Looks cool, red anodized aluminum, but who really cares?

Sound:
This thing made my kick sound killer - the foam rubber sounds thick against the batter head. The hard center really clicks when you hammer it and you still have the nice sound of the foam to round it out. Lots of surface contact makes this beater sound fat. If you play a range of music in one set, soft and hard, this is the beater for you.

Overall:
keep it till it wears out

The industry standard DW 101 2-sided bass drum beater now has some competition: the HardCore pedal beater. The construction is a hard plastic core embedded in soft rubber foam. The unique design allows finite adjustability in the relationship between the two materials. When playing soft, the beater acts much like a pure felt beater, but when struck hard, the beater has all the attack of a hard plastic or wood beater ball. The beater is built to last. The back plate is solid aluminum with a positive connection to the hard core. The velocity-sensitive action can be adjusted to every player's needs. For the first time ever, the HardCore allows a wide range of bass drum sounds, which is especially valuable for drummers playing gigs that feature a wide range of musical styles.
