Dunlop DVP4 Volume X Mini Pedal

Get everything you love about the DVP3 with half the pedalboard footprint, adjustable rocker tension and a switchable AUX output for tuner-out or expression.

Control your volume and FX parameters without crowding your pedalboard. Saving space doesn't mean skimping on durability or functionality--the DVP4 Mini Volume (X) Pedal does everything that the larger DVP3 does at half the size, and it's just as durable and solidly built with a lightweight aluminum chassis, aggressive non-slip tread, and Dunlop's patented Low Friction Band-Drive for a smooth range of motion and consistent, reliable performance. For maximum comfort and precision, the DVP4's rocker tension is fully adjustable.

The AUX output combines tuner and expression functionality into one jack that can be toggled with a switch inside the pedal. When using the DVP4 as an expression pedal, you can use an internal pot to set the minimum level of the parameter you're controlling with the rocker. If you want to reverse the function of the heel-down and toe-down positions, the DVP4 has another internal switch that allows you to do so.

Don't sacrifice control over your volume level and FX pedals just because you're using a travel-sized board. Get yourself a Volume (X) Mini Pedal.

I've had the big Ernie Ball VP for years however I recently decided to downsize my board and decided to try the smaller DVP4 to save space. Wow, this thing is TINY! The size difference does take some getting used to.One important thing to mention, the Aux out can NOT be used as an always on tuner out. Its function is solely to be used if you're going to hook it up as an expression pedal instead of a volume pedal.Unfortunately the sweep isn't as smooth as the Ernie Ball. Starting from the heal down position (volume at 0) the first 15-20% of the sweep doesn't do anything. Then all the sudden the volume comes like you just flipped a toggle switch. So volume swells aren't the smoothest thing since the sound all the sudden hits when you're almost at 1/3 volume. But it's usable once you get used to that nuance.Overall I'm satisfied with it for now however I may explore other mini volume pedal offerings in the near future to see if they have a smoother more consistent sweep.
