About Dean Guitars
Dean Guitars was born in 1976, in the attic of the Chicago suburban childhood home of company founder Dean B. Zelinsky. The 18-year-old Zelinsky was convinced that guitar design and manufacturing had hit a wall. Rock music was huge and guitar makers were failing to keep up with the times. The world was ready for a guitar that looked, played, and sounded superior to what was available from manufacturers at that time. Zelinsky had a better idea.

What followed was a line of electric guitars that for the first time allowed players to play to their potential. With its highly visible V-shaped headstock and trademark wing logo, Dean became in effect, the first boutique guitar line in the history of rock music.

These guitars had to be played to be believed, and played they were! Dean guitars started showing up on rock stages worldwide, album covers, and especially on the newly emerging channel called "MTV." Dean Guitars were featured in the award-winning "MTV Video of the Year" 3 of the first 4 years running. By the time Dean created the famous Spinning Fur Guitars, Dean's early place in Rock history was firmly cemented.
