OK - I'll admit it up front. I'm solidly in the tank for Line 6. Pre-disposition aside, buying new guitars all the time was getting financially unfeasible and retuning them constantly was getting old. After a few months of research, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the Line 6 JTV-89F. The first couple JTVs I got had some wiring/ground issues, but I stuck with it and 3rd time was definitely a charm. The guitar plays really well. I was afraid of having a so-so guitar with killer Line 6 electronics, but that turned out not to be the case. The guitar plays as well as any I've had recently. The action is great and the tone going through the magnetic pickups is good. What really sold me was the tracking. Once I engaged the Variax electronics, it was like I picked up a different guitar and started to wail. I noticed no latency and the modeling, while admittedly not perfect, is fantastic.Perhaps what impressed me more than the guitar itself was the customer service from Zzounds. Since I returned 2 guitars in a row, I was expecting some raised eyebrows and possibly a little disbelief. I got nothing but exceptional customer service and a bunch of great guys who patiently stayed with me and answered all of my silly questions.I did dock a little on quality because I did have to go through three guitars - but this one is a definite keeper.
