Feature:
I bought this unit to use for vocal harmonies in my recording studio because I can never find enough good male or female singers to record back up vocals.
This thing works! I did some back up vocals on a heavey metal rock tune using it for recording, and I had Def Lepard/Van Halen back up vocals in the proper harmonies, major or minor, no problem!
Whoe! I was impressed. Then I tried some Queen vocals, guess what, worked very cool!
I played sand some Crosby Stills Nash & Young through this harmonizer, and I could not believe I sounded like them! Wow.
I tried Amy, by Pure Prarie League, the Eagles, etc, and this harmonizer does the job, Rock or Country, whatever you play, changes vocal harminy chording with your guitar. It keep you in pitch too, based on A 440 and IQ harmonic tracking.
It also saved me recording tracks as well, as I did two separate harmony tracks, used only two tracks, and this would have taken 8 tracks using real singers on their own tracks, not to mention saving set up time, mike cable speghetti mess, headphone cable mess and isolation problems for groups of back up singers in small studios.
I highly recommend this harmonizer for live stage and in personal recording studios. ...It's also a lot cheaper than all the extra mikes, cables, and headphones, and more reliable than all the back up singers you were going to hire.
I give this a 9 because you can always pay $5000.00 for better and more features.
Quality:
Seems to be built solidly, but you might want to duct tape the power cord to keep persons from disconnecting the power supply wall wart.
Value:
Very good investment for stage and home recording studios.
Desirability:
I want the bigger Digitec Guitar Live Harmonizer 4 now. :)
Sound:
I give this Digitec Vocal Harmonizer 2, a ten (10)Plus, considering it costs $349.00 and not $5,000, and it really works. It is easy to use even without my eye glasses on, just grab a knob or push a button and dial up the harmony reverb, and vocal compression you want. Great onstage, easy to adjust on the spot. "On the fly' adjustments of reverb compression mix, harmonies is nice.Just turn the knobs. No programming.
Ease of Use:
I'm going to get an extra one, the Digitec Vocal Harmonizer 4 for guitar which has more features and stereo XLR outs for my recording mixer.
This is a very good investment for your live sound and project studio and very easy to use.
Kenny
Support:
Never dealt with them for support.
Overall:
This gave a big bang for the buck. I won't need another or better unit till I get %5000.00.

Feature:
You have the option of up two harmonies at a time: high, higher, low, lower, unison 1, or unison 2. I wish you could change the harmonies with your feet, but the pedals only turn the harmonies on and off. It does have reverb, compression, and a type of eq, but the quality of the effects isn't that great. This unit really shines as a harmonizer, not a vocal preamp.
Quality:
It feels likes it's well built, but I haven't had it long enough to tell yet.
Value:
The TC Helicon is confusing to use and 800 dollars. This one is only 350 dollars and a steal at that price.
Desirability:
Ummm... It looks good, but very generic and not that flashy. Which is good for me, crazy colors and designs just look cheap. The best products have a very elegant and simple look to them. This one is no different.
Sound:
It doesn't have the sound of the TC Helicon, but the harmonies still sound very nice. I personally think that one harmony sound much better than two. When you use more than one harmony you begin to sound like a bad eagles cover band, but it does work well when you sing a hymn. The vocal effects leave much to be desired, but you can get by with them in a small setting. I use a tube preamp for my mic and the preamp on the digitech just can't make it sound as sweet.
Ease of Use:
It is the only plug and play harmonizer I have ever used, and it is dead simple to operate. It is not completely idiot proof, but close.
Support:
Never dealt with the company, but harman international makes some amazing products. I doubt I would run into a problem
Overall:
Overall the product is great. There are things I would like to see changed, but none the less its great.
