ddrum Electronic Percussion DTS Pro Stereo Snare Trigger

Attach this reliable, sensitive DDrum trigger to the rim of your acoustic snare drum and connect to a DDrum module to trigger electronic percussion sounds.

DDrum Triggers set the standard of trigger mechanics with their superb tracking ability. With absolutely no adhesives required, the ddrum triggers clamp onto the sides of standard drum hoops.

The specially designed transducer is softly pressed against the drumhead. The advantages are obvious: you can change drumheads over and over without damaging the transducer, the metal casing protects the trigger from accidental drum hits, and the ultra-light pressure of the transducer against the head prevents any damping effect.

DDrum Triggers recognize playing dynamics in a natural way, allowing for a realistic dynamic response across the entire drumhead, from the center of the head to the rim. Together with ddrum sound modules, cross talk and double triggering are totally eliminated, so no muffling is needed. And these sturdily-built triggers fit most types of molded hoops with no adhesive.

DDrum Acoustic Triggers come in three different models that fit standard drum rim hoops: the Tom Tom Trigger, the Kick drum Trigger and a special Snare Trigger with a separate sensor for the rim. The Snare Trigger can also be used on Toms. The ddrum Acoustic Triggers feature a very sturdy mechanical housing and can be mounted anywhere around the hoop and an XLR jack for safe connection to the sound module.

I bought the DDrum snare trigger because I had an Alesis elect. kit, but wasn't 100% satisfied with the feel of the snare pad and wanted to use a real snare with a mesh head. I put the snare trigger on my snare, but just wasn't 100% satisfied with it, either. I later replaced that with a Pintech piccolo elect. snare, wich is an actual snare drum, and liked it much better. If you have the money to spend, go this route. I think these would work fine with toms, since you don't do much really close rolls. These work well, just not exclusively for your snare drum sound. You could also get away with getting a less expensive DDrum trigger.
