ddrum Electronic Percussion DDTRS Red Shot Drum Trigger

Trigger electronic sounds from your acoustic drum kit: just clamp this trigger to your drum and connect its output to the ddrumAT, ddrum3, or ddrum4 module.

The ddrum Red Shot Trigger is a stripped down version of the famous ddrum Trigger. It uses the same, patented transducer technique (VAM) as ddrum Trigger. The specially designed transducer is softly pressed against the drumhead. The ultra-light pressure of the transducer against the head prevents any damping effect. The ddrum Red Shot Trigger is extremely easy to use and to mount: just remove 1 tension screw, apply the trigger and put the screw back on again. No adhesive is needed.

It features a 1/4 in. jack for connection to a ddrumAT, ddrum3, or ddrum4 sound module. Thanks to the patented transducer solution, ddrum Red Shot Trigger detects dynamics in a very realistic way - a must for any drummer.

The ddrum Red Shot Trigger together with ddrumAT/3/4 sound modules is a great combination for drummers who want perfect drum sounds without compromising with the acoustic sound. The ddrum4 sound module offers the fastest trig response time on the market, and together with ddrum Red Shot Triggers you'll get a perfect combination of acoustic and digital drums.

The main differences between a ddrum Red Shot Trigger and a ddrum Trigger is the mechanical design, the 1/4 in. jack instead of XLR, and of course - the lower price!

"It's red!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The only reason I would buy a new one is if they release a sturdier model at the same price. Its practical, its been designed well, its priced well and it does exactly the job I want it to do! I'm seriously considering buying more for the rest of my kit. Highly reccomended!

Sound
This product doesn't change the sound of the drum. All it does is add to it. Together with a good sound module it can really add to the sound of your snare! I use this trigger to double the sound of my snare. Its hooked up to samples of vintage ludwig snares which are perfect in the studio. I also use this trigger when playing at slightly larger venues; I don't feel the need for it at small gigs.

Features
The trigger is very basic but this exactly what is needed. All that's needed to go with this product is a lead from trigger to sound module. I really don't see any need for accessories with this produc. Everything I need is already there.

Ease of Use
The trigger itself is very simple. The only problems I could imagine would be to do with the sound module not the trigger. In terms of connections, it couldn't be any simpler. The trigger is very usable in both live and studio applications. It couldn't be easier to attach the trigger to the drum hoop. In terms of modifying sounds, thats all down to the sound module.

Quality
Although the trigger itself is very practical, read more i sometimes feel that it needs a bit more reinforcement. I can't see this trigger lasting forever but when it does give up on me I'll definitely get another one!

Value
I'd buy 10 at this price. What more can I say?

The Wow Factor
a) It's red! b) It's quirky c) I don't really look at it when I'm playing so it doesn't matter all that much to me d) It's red!
