This guitar is beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Great looks all the way around. Has a gold celluloid binding around the body with abilone sound hole inlay that along with the block inlays on neck that truly set it apart. The guitar has a great action on it. I replaced the .012 strings it came with, with some Martin.010 strings and you can truly hear the dexterity of its playability both plugged and unplugged. Very useful tones. Has great highs and very useful lows. The mids are a little hollow for individual picking but cause a fantastic blend when chording. My dad has a Taylor and a Yamaha guitar. This Dean blows them both away for the money. It has better highs and volume than the Taylor and the playability is better than the Yamaha. This guitar is worth every penny of the price. I only have one complaint. Needs better tuners. The tuners feel as though they slip a little before tightening or loosening to tune strings. I always loosen strings below perfect note on string then tune up to note anyway but the tuners don’t loosen strings right away. They do hold tune well but in my opinion I feel for the price and quality of the rest of the guitar’s craftsmanship the tuners are the only place Dean skimped. I will be replacing them later on if I feel as though this becomes annoying or may affect it holding tune. All in all guitar is probably my best guitar purchase in a very long time. And I’ve bought 3 other guitars in past 18 months.
