Feature:
If you need a patchbaY...DBX
Quality:
Top quality patchbay. It should work through almost any enviroment. And If you get static in a channel(it's probaly dust) use compressed air, Don't be an idiot & just throw it away
Value:
DBX PATCHBAYS would have to be in the top ten list of patchbays.
Desirability:
I can't live without my patchbays, Then again patchbays are for proffessionals not chumps.
Sound:
The DBX patchbay is the best patchbay I've purchased. It's been said by Pro Audio proffessionals that you can take a hammer to this thing and it will still work (after the abuse); However I'm not crazy so I haven't taken time to test this urban legend, abuse isn't good on ANY gear... also I spent money on some other patchbays that weren't DBX (or) TASCAM, and they were peaces of junk. When purchasing a patchbay just make sure all your channels work, and it's not staticy. In my practic DBX has become one of the best low-end Hardware brand names in the business.
Support:
Haven't needed cutomer service
Overall:
I hope all that's ever needed is compressed air to clean the channels. This is One excellent piece of hardware

Feature:
While a patchbay may seem a mundane piece of equipment, it is essential. The dbx PB48 allows for easy access to your equipment I/O with added flexibility via half-normalled and de-normalled configurations.
Quality:
The patchbay came in perfect shape. However, upon flipping a few circuit boards - in order to change the normalling - I realized that the "bolts" were made of plastic. While there seemed to be no problem with this, there is probably a slight risk of stripping them. Additionaly, some of the boards proved more difficult to remove than expected.
Value:
For the price, the dbx PB48 is a very good piece of equipment. Especially when compared to some of the cheaper patchbays available, this one shines.
Desirability:
The patchbay is very clean and solid in appearance. Much of the desire of this product stems from necessity.
Sound:
If it works correctly, a patchbay should not create any audible difference in the sound. The dbx PB48 does this well.
Support:
I have had no need to request any support from dbx.
Overall:
This product is a solid purchase. While there may be a couple small drawbacks - at least in my mind - they are nothing to worry about. I am definately happy I spent a little more for the dbx PB48, as it was worth it.
