Dunlop Heil Talkbox Effect Pedal

No longer available at zZounds
Sturdy, steel case, heavy-duty speaker driver. Rugged mechanical footswitch and jacks. This item is not returnable.

The original Heil Talk Box is back in style. You too can recreate the sounds popularized by Peter Frampton, Joe Walsh, Slash, Alice in Chains, Aerosmith, and others. Easy-to-use! Can be set up with one guitar amp, but requires separate microphone and mic amp. The Heil Talkbox is designed for use with head/cabinet types of guitar amps. It is not recommended for combo amps. It may be possible to rig up a combo amp to use the Heil Talkbox but it will require fabricating a cable to place the Talkbox between the power amp section of the combo amp and the speaker. A knowledge of soldering may be required as well as an understanding of Ohm's law. Not recommended for novice guitar techs with combo amps.

Sound
I play this through a JCM 2555 with a Gibson Les Paul. It definetly has a unique sound. It takes a little getting used to but is definetly worth it if you like that sort of sound. Not hard to hook up if you know how to use your equipment and can read.
Ease of Use
It takes a bit to get used to, if you close your mouth or block the tube the sound cuts out. After you get used to that the sky is the limit.
Quality
Built like a tank. The thing weighs almost ten pounds.
Value
It is expensive, but worth it if you want that sound. Also you have to own or purchase a mike stand, mike, and a separate amp or PA to use.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with Dunlop.
The Wow Factor
It is definetly unique, not that many people play out with them, so they will grab extra attention.
