We purchased this for events for our architectural firm and to use for trade shows as well. I am very pleased with the quality of the unit. Reviews are to help others, so here's what I learned. There are NO instructions for how to make custom Gobo's in the box. But the box says you can. I looked on the internet and found general instructions. You have to use special transparency stock to run through your copier. The gobos are actually quite small, so print at 600 dpi if possible. the image area is actually only 3/4" in diameter. It would be helpful if Chauvet explained all of that. They did not. Also, because fitting the gobo cells into the holder is a little tedious (need strong coffee) including an extra holder would be helpful. It would be good to have the ability to switch them quickly. Finally, even the transparency film can melt. My solution? Remove the gobo BEFORE you turn off the unit. The fan does not continue to run like the old Kodak slide projectors. Turn on the unit and insert the gobo. Leaving it in a hot unit with no fan causes it to melt or at least deform.
