Manufacturer's Description for Crate GT1200 Guitar Amplifier Half Stack with GT1200H Head and G412 Cabinet
New for 2004, the GT1200H features many unique technologies that make Crate solid-state amps the choice of players everywhere. Crate's patented "FlexWave Evolution 5" circuitry replicates the tone, response and feel of tubes in a solid-state circuit in a way that no other amplifier can. It adds a little compression, low-end distortion and a great tactile "feel" to the preamp circuit.
Front Panel Controls Input: Use this jack to connect your guitar to the amplifier by means of a shielded instrument cable.
Solo/rhythm channels: High gain channels giving you sounds with serious overdrive.
Solo LED: This LED illuminates when the Solo channel is selected.
Gain: Use this control to adjust the amount of distortion produced by the Solo channel.
Shape: Use this control to "dial in" the tone for the Solo channel. Rotating the control counterclockwise enhances the mid frequencies, while rotating the control clockwise enhances the low and high frequencies.
Level: Use this control to adjust the output level of the Solo channel.
Solo/Rhythm select: Use this switch to select the Solo or Rhythm channel. When this switch is depressed, the Solo channel is selected. With the switch in the out position, the Rhythm channel is selected. This switch is active only when the Solo-Rhythm/Clean Select switch is depressed.
Rhythm LED: This LED illuminates when the Rhythm channel is selected.
Gain: Use this control to adjust the amount of distortion produced by the Rhythm channel.
Low: Use this control to adjust the low frequency level of the Solo/Rhythm channel.
Mid: Use this control to adjust the midrange frequency level of the Solo/Rhythm channel.
High: Use this control to adjust the high frequency level of the Solo/Rhythm channel.
Level: Use this control to adjust the output level of the Rhythm channel.
Solo-rhythm/clean select: Use this switch to select the Clean channel or the Solo and Rhythm channels. With the switch in the out position, the Clean channel is selected. When the switch is depressed, either the Solo or Rhythm channel is selected, depending on the setting of the Solo/ Rhythm Select switch.
Clean channel: A normal gain channel designed to give you crystal clean sounds.
Clean LED: This LED illuminates when the Clean channel is selected.
Vol: Use this control to adjust the output level of the Clean channel.
Low: Use this control to adjust the low frequency level of the Clean channel.
Mid: Use this control to adjust the midrange frequency level of the Clean channel.
High: Use this control to adjust the high frequency level of the Clean channel.
Reverb: Use this control to adjust the amount of reverb effect: in its fully counterclockwise position the signal will be "dry" (without any effect). As you rotate the control clockwise the amount of reverb increases.
CD input: Use these RCA jacks to connect the output from a CD player or tape deck to the amplifier. The signal at these jacks is combined into a mono signal which is sent to the internal power amp circuit. Use the CD or tape player's output level control to adjust the signal for the proper mix with your guitar.
Power: Use this switch to turn the amplifier on (top of the switch depressed) and off (bottom of the switch depressed). The switch illuminates when the power is on.

What Our Customers Are Saying About zZounds
"As long as zZounds maintains their Play as you Pay option, I will shop there exclusively." - customer on February 7th , 2012
Sound:
The solo seems to sound the best and the rythem is very good great amp if you are in a band.
Feature:
It included the footswitch which made it easier to switch from rythem and clean to solo, its channels are unbelievible.
Ease of Use:
You basically have to turn the nobs to your favorite way/style of playing.
Quality:
It is well and id say pretty much no loose parts.
Value:
For the money it isnt as good as i would want it, i think if it had more features i would want to pay more, the marshall half stacks and the other crate stacks are a better deal.
Manufacturer Support:
I had to contact them to redeem my warranty and it went over smoothly i just emailed the company and they shipped it in.
The Wow Factor:
The look appeals to me completely because the look of the metal grill and the head makes people just want to buy it.
Overall:
I will probably have this until i am ready to upgrade which is sanywhere from 2-3years.

"Great head, for the price."
Sound:
The clean channel is good, which as a musician that plays in a ska band, is a huge plus, but I'm not a fan of the distorted channels. I just use a Digitech Hot Head pedal and that does the job fine.
Feature:
The features are pretty limited and straight forward. Solo channel, rhythm channel, clean channel and reverb. No other effects to get in your way, however the foot switch that came with it is junk and wouldn't hold together at all.
Ease of Use:
Very simple to use, very easy to dial in your tone. Works well with any of the pedals I've used and etc.
Quality:
The quality of the amp itself is great. I haven't had one problem with the amp, however I didn't like the tone of the cabs that came with it. It comes with mini-cabs, they're not full sized so you don't get that deep low end that I needed, and also the speakers started to sound distorted on the clean channel, so I upgraded my cab to a Marshall 1960B. But it's a great head.
Value:
For 700 dollars for a full stack and 500 for a half, you really can't beat that with a stick. It makes a great amp if you're just starting to play seriously, and after upgrading the cabs it makes a great amp period.
Manufacturer Support:
I didn't deal with the company at all, since I've had no trouble with the amp, so I really can't say anything on this section.
The Wow Factor:
To me it just looks like any other amp. Nothing too spectacular about it. It's black color, and metal grill look pretty slick, but I ended up doing a lot of customizing to it. Then again, I like to stand out in a crowd.
Overall:
It's a great amp. Worth the money, but if I were you, I'd buy the head, and buy a Marshall 1960 (Or any other) full sized cab. The small mini cabs don't do this head justice. Also, make sure you take good care of the foot switch if you intend to use that instead of a stomp box.
