New for 2004, Crate introduces an entirely new range of acoustic amplifiers. The technology in the new Crate acoustic series is unique, with preamp circuits you can tailor for piezo or active systems. Their new feedback elimination circuits are efficient and simple to use. They even include the ability to automatically eliminate feedback at two different frequencies. Crate uses special studio monitor-style speakers with polypropylene cones and rubber surrounds in ported cabinets for tight, even bass response. Every CA amp has a high frequency component for crisp, clear highs. The CA6110DG model includes special features for live performance like XLR & 1/4 in. balanced line out with level control which does not affect your stage volume. It also has ground lift on the line out, tweeter level control, effects loop and a two button footswitch for internal reverb/effects and chorus switching. Designed to provide studio quality sound from any instrument, each Crate Acoustic amp adds clarity, power, and intuitive controls, while maintaining natural acoustic tone. The CA60 features 2 x 30 watts RMS, twin Crate 6.5 in. high fidelity speakers, and a Crate special design tweeter. Two channels with 1/4 in. and XLR input allow for instrument, vocal, or an aux. input of your choice, like CD player or another instrument. Crate's patented feedback elimination circuit helps players "notch out" unwanted tonal anomalies which tend to create feedback in a live situation. The CA60 also includes slant front cabinet, 3 band EQ, chorus with control, and effects send.

Feature:
There are some excellent features on this amp; it offers an XLR output, effects loop, XLR input with phantom power, flexible and accurate FX DSP, footswitch, and an excellent eq/notch filter on channel 1. My only wish is that Crate would have added the same eq options to channel 2, which features only an average two-band eq. I have found that at times I need to use an outboard eq with the second channel.
Quality:
It's one of Crate's best amp builds, in my opinion. Everything feels solid and durable. I have gigged with this amp for years and it has never given me the slightest problem or issue. If something were to happen to this amp I would immediately start searching for the same model.
Value:
I love this amp... I know there are other amps out there, but for my preference and the style of music I'm playing, this amp was the perfect fit at an excellent price.
Desirability:
They went with the "vintage" look - tan, leather body, dark brown tweed grille, dark brown faceplate. It looks classy and only adds to the appeal of the amp, in my opinion.
Sound:
I find this amp to provide solid, warm guitar tones, faithfully reproducing the natural sounds of my custom Alvarez-Yairi acoustic guitars. I have a preamp built in one guitar, and mic the other, and this amp does a great job in both situations. I use the amp for live shows; I find it has plenty of power for my needs (5-piece acoustic rock band) and always sits well in the mix. I have not recorded with this amp in a studio environment.
Ease of Use:
It's a really straightforward amp... everything is clearly labeled and does exactly what you would expect it to do.
Support:
Never had a need to contact support, hope I never will.
