Cordoba Requinto 1/2 Size Classical Acoustic Guitar

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Get a quality classical acoustic guitar with smaller dimensions than that of a full-sized model. It's ideal for children and travelling.

The Cordoba Requinto is a half size nylon string acoustic guitar with a smaller body, neck, and overall dimensions than a full or size guitar. The Requinto has a scale length of 580mm (22.8 inches) and a fingerboard width at the nut of 47mm (1.85 inches). It features a solid Canadian cedar top and African Mahogany back and sides. The top is braced with a 5 fan Torres style bracing system for a warm and resonant sound. The neck is made of lightweight Mahogany, and the fingerboard is Rosewood.

The Requinto is handmade and includes several detailed refinements like an all rosewood binding, bridge, headstock veneer, and heel cap. The rosette has been inlaid by hand and is made using all natural woods. This is a great guitar for children, travelers, or anyone looking for a lightweight, compact and easy playing instrument.

I am just starting to learn and am working overseas, so I needed a small guitar. This guitar fit the bill perfectly. It sounds good to my ears and the nylon strings aren't as hard on my fingers as I thought they would be. I hope to get good at playing and I think this is a great guitar to get started. The price was right, and so is the size (I don't have a lot of room in my little hooch).
