What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Solid cedar top Mellow, nuanced, responsive tone
Rosewood back and sides Warm tone with long sustain
Rosewood fretboard Open, warm tone and smooth playing feel
LR Baggs StagePro Element preamp w/ tuner Picks up guitar top's movement; wide dynamic range

The Concert with soft cutaway is Breedlove's most prevalent body shape, chosen by guitarists because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of an incredible sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when finger-style, as vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum played.

Top

Western red cedar is a wonderful wood for fingerstyle players. It is softer than spruce, so it requires a careful and accurate touch, and it rewards with sweet, extended harmonic content.

Back and Sides

Indian rosewood has been the standard rosewood choice for decades. It is often associated with the great dreadnoughts, and is an amazingly neutral wood that takes its personality from the player. Well-balanced lows, mids, and highs make it a natural for many styles.

Hand-Crafted Neck

A satin-finished nato mahogany neck with volute makes the neck comfortable and easy to play. The volute adds strength to the break angle of the headstock. It also acts as a thumbrest for chords played in open and first positions.

Breedlove Bridge Truss

For centuries, one of the most difficult components of crafting guitars has been relieving the stress on the bridge without overbuilding the top and dampening sound. Originally invented over 20 years ago, the Breedlove Bridge Truss is still one of the most innovative truss systems on the market today. Refined and read more improved over the years, the Breedlove Bridge Truss relieves stress on the top, allowing use of a thinner top, providing for greater sustain and balance, more expression from the instrument, and greater structural integrity - all while adding longevity to the instrument.

Electronics

The LR Baggs Stage Pro preamp gives you great plugged-in sound. The back-lit, colored LED tuner also allows you to see if you're in tune on a dark stage. This set-up lets you play with confidence, so you can focus on your performance.

Aesthetic Appointments

Lustrous full-gloss finish, a beautiful single-ring abalone rosette, offset position markers and attractive black binding give a rich, upscale appearance.

This Guitar is amazing. I'm a singer/songwriter who's been playing guitar for over 40 years. I played funk, rock, R&B, and now Contemporary Christian/Gospel. As a wanna be rock star and now church musician, I was extremely reluctant to buy a guitar without picking it up, playing it, listening it and "feeling" it. But after researching several guitars I took a leap of faith and purchased the Breedlove Solo Concert 12 string. Obviously, I was nervous about the purchase. As soon as I opened the box and picked up the guitar all of my fear disappeared. It plays like a dream. Intonation is consistent across the neck. I thought the body shape would cheat me out of tone quality. Was I ever wrong. The tone is deep, rich, balanced and bright. The sound is clear and moving. The tuner is easy to read and perfectly located. For the first time I feel like I have more than an instrument when singing in church. I feel like I have a partner in ministry. I am a discriminating, penny-wise shopper. This guitar meets my personal standard of being a high quality instrument that looks good, plays great and dollar-for-dollar is a great value. So much so that I am now purchasing the stage concert 6-string guitar.
