After much research and fretting over what my first relatively higher end American-made guitar would be, I ran across this beautiful instrument on Breedlove's website. I fell in love with its finish, shape, and uniqueness immediately. I was nervous about ordering such an expensive guitar without playing it first, but kept finding myself going back to the pictures of it over and over. I was attached. I decided to buy it, and after the longest week I have ever waited on a delivery, it arrived. It is perfect. Finally, the combination of Myrtlewood and Port Orford cedar (which is actually a cypress wood) provide a complex and rich tone. A friend of mine has an American series Breedlove (OM, EI rosewood/Sitka spruce) and beside it, this guitar shines at allowing each note ring individually, while resonating together beautifully. The low end of this guitar is not as punchy as that of the rosewood, but is amply present. You have to hear this guitar to appreciate the complexity and subtle uniqueness of its tone. The versatility of this guitar is great, with the Breedlove concert being just the right size for finger style, while maintaining plenty of resonance for a booming stunning experience. Playability is excellent, Breedloves quality control and customer service is superb. I found this out when I called with several questions prior to and after receiving my guitar. The finish is flawless on mine. I actually plan on guilding a mountable display case for it this summer, so that I read more can admire it on my wall while maintaining humidity control. Overall, I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a versatile, unique, and stunningly beautiful instrument. I will improve any collection, or make for a phenomenal step-up guitar into the American made realm. Act fast though, I don't imaging the 200 they are making will last for long!
