The ME-50 Guitar Multiple Effects is a floor-based multi-effects processor built with the ruggedness and simplicity of a stompbox. Designed to work with your amplifier, the ME-50 focuses on killer multi-effects (like COSM overdrive and distortion) rather than amp modeling. And dialing in your tone is easy, thanks to dedicated knobs for each effect section, three footswitches and a built-in expression pedal. So if you want great-sounding effects without all the menu surfing, the ME-50 is everything you need. Learn More...

Feature:
It came with drivers and a Cakewalk CD (but only works on Windows machines - there was no mention of this on the web-site.) Also came with a nice, long power-adaptor. The transformer is in-line, so there's no wall-wart. That was a nice idea.
And there are two 1.5Watt speakers built in! Too cool. Yeah, they sound thin (they are 2" speakers...) but it's great to play around with.
Quality:
Well made and well thought out. It's made for desk-top use, and in that application I can't see it ever breaking.
Value:
The GS-10 is well worth the money I paid. It all boils down to "useability." I'll use this for many things for years to come.
Desirability:
How much kitchier can you get? A great effects box with built in speakers! Too cool. I can see millions of young guitarists finally being able to practice at reasonable volumes without the neighbours complaining.
Sound:
I had the GT-6 and the ME-50 before this. I found the GT-6 to be very thin-sounding and lack-lustre. The GS-10 fixed that problem and sounds huge and warm! The amp and speaker emulations are Boss's best yet, and the effects are just as good as the ME-50.
Here's one peeve I have - the GS-10 does reverb, but it has no Spring reverb. For a dedicated guitar processor this seems to be an odd ommision. The other 'verbs are pretty good considering the price.
One great feature I feel is worth mentioning is the Tremolo. The ME-50's trem had a square wave type of sound - on/off/on/off/on... etc. The GS-10 has a control that lets you choose how steep/harsh the cutoff will be. This makes it very useful to get the old, Fendery trem as well as special fx type trems.
Support:
I've never had a Roland or Boss product break or stop working, so I've never needed customer support.
Overall:
This is going to be a much-used piece of gear for years and years. Even as a practice amp this thing is great - practice with all the best effects, etc. I'd likely get a TC Electronic G-Force for it's non-overdriven sounds, but for Distortion and Overdrive I suspect that I'll stick with the GS-10 for some time to come.
