With 45 watts in a compact size and outfitted with a 5-band EQ and a distortion channel, the BXL450 bass combo amp is versatile enough for most gigs.

When a stack is too high and a practice amp just doesn't cut it, then this truly affordable wedge-shaped Bass Workstation with a powerful 10 in. high-impact cone speaker is exactly right! With 45 watts of output horse power, your performance will never run out of breath. And it's fully loaded: one clean and one distortion channel with full control, a 5-band EQ with a revolutionary "See-What-You-Play" FBQ frequency indicator that immediately shows you which bass frequency corresponds with which fader on your EQ to allow you instant sound shaping are just a few of the feature highlights. A musical limiter guarantees playing without distortion on the clean channel even at the highest volume levels. You can use the separate headphone output whenever you need to keep your music just to yourself.

It suits my purposes fine. I like its sound and size. Behringer dominates the bass combo market in this price range for a good reason. If it went away I'd replace it with another one or maybe one a little bigger for a fuller bottom end.
Sound
The sound on the clean channel is smooth, tight and punchy. It loses the fundamental frequency and "doubles" below about 80 Hz, but you have to expect that with a low-power 10 inch. The distortion channel sounds gross to me - I would never use it, but that's just me. The amp is clean and has no hum, hiss or grounding problems.
Features
It's a bass amp, how many features do you need? The EQ feature works well and lets you shape the sound over a wide range, but the slide pots were crackly out of the box. They got better with use.
Ease of Use
Easy enough. The controls on the distortion channel are a little odd, but I don't use them anyway.
Quality
Overall quality is good, except for the dirty slide pots. It's reasonably well built, but it's a living room amp, not a road amp.
Value
Excellent value in this price range.
Manufacturer Support
Can't rate - don't know.
The Wow Factor
It's not terribly sexy, but its value makes it appealing.
