The Ultimate in Acoustic Freedom
Behringer's ACX1000 represents a true milestone in acoustic guitar amps. It not only gives you incredible cutting power, ensuring that your electro-acoustic guitar will slice through any mix and hold its own with the loudest band, but also unusually flexible voicing options. Its instrument channel is optimized for the Piezo-type pickups most often found in guitars and other string instruments, and includes a great-sounding active 3-band EQ plus an attack control, especially useful for finger-picking, and 2 feedback controls for fast and easy elimination of problem frequencies. Separate gain and volume controls offer additional tone-shaping flexibility, while the phase button with status LED allows quick correction of the phase problems often encountered with acoustic instruments.

The second channel features a first-class mic preamp with a balanced XLR input and phantom power plus a 1/4 in. line-level input for a second instrument or sound source plus the same EQ section and feedback controls as channel one. Instead of an attack control, channel 2 sports a control for the enhancer circuit, which helps you get the best out of your vocal or instrument signal. Both channels share a tube emulation circuit, specially developed for the ACX1000, featuring a warmth control that allows you to add tube-type harmonics at will. The vintage-style VU meter displays the amount of added warmth.

Speaking of voicing power, the Ultracoustic also boasts an onboard 24-bit stereo digital multi-effects unit with 24 algorithms that we painstakingly fine-tuned for acoustic guitar and vocals, including reverb, delay, rotary speaker, chorus, flanger, stereo panning, tremolo, and various effects combinations. Four of its 99 editable presets can be assigned to presets for quick front-panel or footswitch selection.

Last but not least, the ACX1000 offers a multitude of useful I/O options, including an adjustable stereo aux in with level control and mute function, a stereo tape I/O, a pre-FX insert per channel and stereo post-FX insert in the master section for outboard processors and a parallel tuner output. And it's the only acoustic amp on the market with a MIDI interface that allows remote effects selection and automation. In addition to our road-proven build quality and first-class components, like a robust power supply for plenty of reserves and headroom, it features an active, temperature-controlled cooling system.

"Had it for 6 months -- best amp ever"
Feature:
I set it up in coffee shops, using the attached tilt-back legs, and it always fills the pplace up, even when there are a lot of people talking, coffee machines blowing steam and so forth -- my music cuts through everything, and if I don't turn it down a bit, people at tables can't even talk to one another easily. Heh.

Quality:
By the way, anyone who has tried to use a GUITAR AMPLIFIER for voice amplification can tell you that it never sounds good. But the Ultracoustic ACX1000 makes your voice sound as good as it can possibly be. A real acoustic amp, like this one, is what's needed for both acoustic guitars and VOICES. If I had a Chicago-style (i.e. electric) blues band, I'd get an ACX1000 (or two) for the lead vocals and backup singers.

Value:
Ok, you get the idea. As someone else said, I went out and played all the acoustic amps before I bought the Behringer. If price didn't matter, this is the one i would have bought. It is louder and sweeter and more robust and more versatile than any of the others. And the price? Well, hey -- I was willing to pay less, since I had no choice.

Sound:
I bought the ACX1000 6 months ago, and have been using it heavily from the first day. It is beautiful sounding -- smooth and LOUD (120 watts total on 2 channels) and accurate. Voices sound super on condenser mics, and my electric/acoustic comes through powerfully, with a full, detailed sound, without boominess or muddyness.

"Need an amplified acoustic sound - get this amp!!!"
Feature:
The chorus and reverb are great! The warmth control really works. The tone controls have good range. The TWO anti-feedback controls nailed my feedback problems without damping the mid tones. The pick attack control is good, but I find that the speakers have so much punch that I don't need it for my acoustic. However, it does help with my electric guitars.

Quality:
Everything works as promised. The amp looks cool too!

Value:
You can't beat the two full channels with pick attack, warmth control, double feedback notches, midi, 99 effects, etc.

Desirability:
Great amp - nice full acoustic sound, all the bells and whistles, looks terrific, and is not expensive!

Sound:
Great sound for acoustics. Just turn up the volume and your acoustic guitar becomes louder, including the harmonics. It is very transparent. I also works well with electric guitars. The only thing keeping this from a 10 is that the warmth control does add some hiss at higher volumes.

Support:
I have only had one question for Behringer so far. They answered my email promptly. I don't know what others are complaining about.

Overall:
I researched many other amps before settling on the Ultracoustic. You can't beat it for the price, features and looks.
