The versatile BLUE Yeti Pro microphone combines 24-bit/192 kHz USB I/O with stereo analog XLR outputs, for the ultimate sound solution in any setting.

Blue's original Yeti USB mic scored a home run with home recording enthusiasts for its extreme ease-of-use and the versatility of four selectable pickup patterns. The Yeti Pro improves on the hit original with a stereo balanced XLR output, and professional 192 kHz/24-bit digital audio over its USB out. By popular demand, it's the Pro version of Blue's distinctive Yeti microphone -- ready to plug into your XLR preamp, mixer, or audio interface, and still holding its own as a great-sounding USB mic.

Pick a Pattern, Any Pattern

If you're familiar with the original Yeti, you know about its unique multi-pattern capabilities. Blue has outfitted the Yeti Pro with the same proprietary three-capsule array that can record in mono cardioid, bidirectional figure-eight, omnidirectional, or even stereo X-Y pickup patterns, making it more flexible than the typical studio multi-pattern condenser. Use Blue's helpful manual to find out which pattern is best for your needs (try bidirectional for interviews, stereo for a vocal group, or cardioid for a voiceover), and click the dial on the back of the mic to switch patterns. And yes, the stereo X-Y pattern outputs separate left and right channels, via a standard 5-pin XLR cable. Use the included XLR breakout cable to split the signal into left and right, or plug in any standard 5-pin XLR if you like. When operating your Yeti Pro in any of the other three non-stereo modes, it'll send dual mono signals to each side of the XLR breakout cable, so read more you can run it into two recording systems for a handy built-in safety.

Analog or Digital? Get Both

New to the Yeti Pro is the ability to switch between Analog Mode (the XLR output) and Digital Mode (the USB output). The analog XLR outputs easily connect the Yeti Pro to any mixer or audio interface that has XLR inputs, a portable recorder like the Zoom H4n, or the console in any pro studio. But if you'd prefer to skip all that and plug the mic directly into your computer with the included 10-foot USB cable, the Yeti Pro's digital output is no less "pro" -- delivering crystal-clear 24-bit audio at up to 192 kHz. In USB mode, you can use the Yeti Pro's handy mute button and headphone amp with volume knob right on the microphone itself. Not sure which of the four pickup patterns to use for your band rehearsal? It's a snap to cycle through the four patterns while listening in the headphones straight off the mic. And the built-in headphone amp is also perfect for zero-latency monitoring when you record voiceover at your desk. In fact, when the Yeti Pro is connected via USB, its standard 1/8" headphone plug becomes a great-sounding audio output for your computer. If you like to listen to music in headphones at your desk, why not do it through the Yeti Pro's crisp, noiseless D/A converter? Chances are, you'll hear a noticeable improvement from your computer's built-in headphone jack.

Yeti's Distinctive Design

A look around Blue Microphones' extensive catalog reveals that they're no slouches in the design department. Indeed, Blue specializes in distinctive, well-built mics that are meant to look as good as they sound. The Yeti Pro is no exception, sporting a pebbled black finish that sets off the shiny metal grill. The heavy-duty desk mount has a rubber isolation pad on the bottom, and you can tighten the desk mount's two set screws to secure the mic in any position, even flipping it all the way upside down for compact storage. Or remove the desk mount entirely and use the standard thread mount on the bottom to attach it to any standard studio mic stand. The Yeti Pro even works with the Blue Ringer custom shock mount for excellent isolation from floor vibrations.
