Mist has all of the features of Ambient's Flurry Alarm Clock, plus an FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System), and Ambient's new InTouchTM Messaging Service.

InTouch Messaging is a unique new service from Ambient that enables anyone to send up to 140 character messages directly to a compatible Ambient product. For example, have school delay notifications sent directly to Mist so you know when you can sleep in before you get out of bed... Or send a "Happy Birthday" message to someone special... Or set notifications in your calendar to go to Mist for special events, such as "don't forget, flight at 6am".

Mist's FM radio features a digital tuner for clear reception and an internal antenna for a clean look. If you live in an area at the fringe of reception range, Mist also includes a wire antenna that can be easily extended from the battery compartment if needed. RDS provides station identification and program information such as artist and song names on the text line.

Mist's display panel is slightly larger than Flurry's, for best-in-class readability. The time display is easily readable from several feet away, or even across a room. The backlit display is dimmable, and we selected amber to enhance readability in low-light situations — amber won't "burn" your retina and cause momentary blindness the way a white or blue display will.

To the right and left of the time display, you'll find dedicated indicators for alarm 1 and alarm 2. The benefit is that you can always see the alarm time, at a glance. You don't need to touch Mist to know alarm status. The alarms are also easy to activate and deactivate — simply press the corresponding button on the top. When the button is "up" the alarm is on. That's smart!

AM and PM indicators actually say "AM" and "PM". And there are no buttons or controls on the back of Mist — all controls are right on top, where you can easily find and use them. Easy.

Mist includes a 2-day weather snapshot from AccuWeather.com, so you will always know what to expect for the day ahead. The forecast is automatically updated throughout the day so it's immediately available whenever you need it. No need to wait for the weather forecast on the radio or TV, or for an Internet-download — with Mist, information waits for you (instead of the other way around).

Mist connects to Ambient's free InfoCast wireless network — so you also have the benefit of accurate network time. Mist automatically adjusts for daylight savings time, and also includes a battery backup — so your alarm will go off on time, even if there is a power outage (1 "AA" battery required, sold separately).

Last, but not least, there are three different alarm tones (vs. two tones with Flurry). The alarms feature adjustable volume levels, and each has been selected to make sure you actually wake up — on time.
