With a dovetail neck joint and fan-style bracing, this tenor ukulele is built for optimal player response from rosewood, mahogany and solid A+ Sitka spruce.

The Alvarez AU70T Tenor Ukulele has been carefully & thoughtfully designed to be an extremely responsive and expressive instrument, able to deliver excellent projection and volume without sacrificing detailed tonal textures.

Like all Alvarez ukes, the AU70T is constructed with a dovetail neck joint for optimal strength and energy transfer between the neck and body. The traditional fan-style bracing has been custom modified to maintain the instrument's structural integrity, while optimizing its ability to respond to the most subtle player input. The AU70T's lively response is further enhanced by a solid "slotted" rosewood bridge, which increases projection while helping to make string changes easier and faster.

Other player-centric features include seasoned tonewoods, genuine bone nut and saddle, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, slotted headstock, and premium die-cast tuners. If you're looking for a true player's instrument, look no further - the Alvarez AU70T has it all!

A good 1st uke for guitar players (nut is a bit on the narrow side for a tenor uke). Looks nice, slotted headstock is a nice touch, well balanced, satin finish feels good, and with the solid spruce top and laminated rosewood back and sides the sound is quite vibrant. Spent only a few bucks having the rough fret ends smoothed out, and playability is very good. Intonation is good, too. Now that I'm hooked on ukuleles, I plan to get a high-end instrument, but I will still keep this one. Assuming Alvarez's Chinese manufacturing QC is consistent, I can't imagine how anything could be better for well under $200.00.
