About This Product!
Description
With the complete DSP power of the Alesis GuitarFX pedal, quality construction, and industry-leading value, SpitFire guitar amplifiers are perfect for guitarists looking for an affordable, flexible, great-sounding amplifier for practice or small stage applications. The SpitFire's DSP provides 80 presets that can be easily edited & overwritten. Nine effects modules let you pick multiple effects for a huge variety of combinations. There are over 40 different effects to choose from, including distortions, cabinet emulation, EQ, compression, filter, modulation, reverb, and delay.

There is also an auto-chromatic tuner built in. SpitFire amps feature a 1/4 in. stereo headphone output on the front panel that disconnects the speaker when in use, plus a 1/4 in. expression pedal input for control of effects, an external speaker output jack, and stereo RCA inputs for connecting a CD or tape player. A specially dedicated "Right Channel" output allows a second guitar amp to be connected for separated stereo amplification. An amazing value.

Applications

The SpitFire series is perfect for guitarists looking for a portable, flexible, great-sounding amplifier with built-in FX for stage, practice, and recording. On stage, two SpitFire amplifiers can be linked in stereo. With RCA inputs for a CD/MP3 player and headphone output, SpitFire amplifiers excel as practice tools, and their wide range of tonalities makes them great for recording.

Alesis Spitfire 15 Guitar Amplifier (15 Watts, 1x8 in.) Reviews

"Great for the price. Excellent first-time amp!"
Feature:
It has lots of versatility with the effects. With each effect you can adjust the intensity on a scale 1-10. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a footswitch unless you buy it separately (which is about $50). Although, Boss sells a footswitch for about $25 called the AB-2 I think.

Quality:
The reason I give this is a 8 is because it is a low priced amp. However, it is an extremely high quality amp for the price. For example: some effects such as delay pedals cost over $50 for each pedal. With Alesis amps you save big by getting a bunch of effect packed into one. A word of caution: I left my guitar cable plugged into the front and then accidentally tipped over the amp. This broke the input jack; however, I was easily able to fix this with a screwdriver and some electrical tape. It was easy to take the amp apart and fix the problem. Overall, the amp is very well made.

Value:
Excellect. All compact effects. You can hardly find another 15 watt amp for cheaper on the internet WITHOUT the effects (or for more for that matter).

Desirability:
Just a simple, small looking amp. Very light, black. My friend have commented on the effect being cool, but didn't care about the look.

Sound:
The Effects are awesome for a 64 dollar amp. I can almost not say anymore. I use if for practicing on an acoustic-electric and the delay and echo effects are amazing. I played a finger-picking song at a church social once and widened a few eyes with the effects. Although, if you play acoustic-electric you might consider Alesis' Coolfire, specifically designed for acoustics. This model, the Spitfire, has a lot of distortion effects that I hardly ever use.

Support:
I havn't needed to call support to this point. To me, that's the best support.

Overall:
This is an excellent first amp. It was a stepping stone for me. Eventually I realized I'd do better with an amp specically made for acoustics and have bought the Behringer ACX1000 Ultracoustic since. I will probably sell the Spitfire to a friend or on Ebay.
