Description
This velocity-sensitive drum pad is designed as an additional trigger input for the Alesis DM5 Pro Drumkit. Dual-zone snare pad for increased triggering. It includes mounting hardware and cable.
Feature:
It is a benefit that the pads use an actual rim cuz you can replace the stock mylar skin with mesh heads. Dynamic range is good. It is also in no way tunable.
Quality:
the style of construction it uses has a disk of foam rubber right underneath the mylar skin that will eventually for air bubbles and make the pad reduce its rebound. and if you have the pads tilted to far, your stick will leave a nasty dent in the skin.
Value:
THis pad is a a good value. It is easy to convert to mesh heads and easy to repair if need be.
Desirability:
not desirable at all.
Sound:
This has to be the loudest trigger I have ever heard. the makers are lying by saying that these pads are quiet enough to use in an apartment.
Ease of Use:
It can only mount one way. Definite - on that. but it still mounts easily.
Support:
Haven't dealt with tech support.
Overall:
I have since converted all of my pads to mesh head triggers. (hallow)
and I am very satisfied with it now.
