"Great Sound, Poor Durability."

Sound: I love the sound of this Mic. I am a vocalist for a hard rock/metal band and I use diverse styles. The Mic sounds great with all of them. Feature: Overall it is pretty nice. The Battery life indicator can be a bit sketchy at times dropping from 6hrs to 2hrs or less in about 30 minutes. Seems to be most accurate with standard issues duracel/energizer. Metal enclosure instead of plastic would be nice. Ease of Use: Pretty easy to set up and get going with, a bit more complex when dealing with multiple mics. Quality: While this mic sounds great, it is not at all durable. One drop is all it takes to break it, and not a very hard drop at that. The first time a dropped it, it fell about three feet to the floor. I had to have it repaired at a cost of around 75 dollars. The second time it dropped from only about 2 feet and landed in a padded pedal box. Suffice it to say, I am now looking for something more durable. Value: For the money it is a great sounding Mic, but I think it should be more durable. Manufacturer Support: Good support, but I wish the turn around time was faster on repairs. Overall: Good sound, poor durability. If you are going to stand still and there is very little chance of dropping the Mic, go for it. If, like me, you like to be very mobile on stage, then I would look for something more durable.

Overall: This unit is currently discontinued and I imagine for a few good reasons. For starters - the durability on this microphone is next to nothing. Like in the previous review, all it takes is one drop to the floor and you have totaled the microphone - any amount of money is not even worth it to repair this thing. The dealer that sold me this product did not mention the fact that there is no option to deactivate the pilot tone ... this means that if you have the microphone in a live situation with the channel at the console un-muted and your talent decides to turn the power switch off on the microphone without telling you (some clients are control freaks or are paranoid that they will come through the PA accidentally...) then you will get a lovely, BLARING LOUD, static noise that is completely capable of bringing an event to a crash and burn situation within seconds. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT unless you truly think you will have complete control over the microphone at all times. The few bells and whistles on it that allow you to scan for frequencies are not worth the headache. Invest in a Shure, Sennheiser or higher end AKG unit.
