Warm, Consistent, and Accurate Audio Capture

Every studio needs a reliable large-diaphragm condenser microphone because of the wide reach of applications it lays at your feet. Your AKG P820 captures a wide frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which is great for vocals, piano, strings, horns, voiceover, overhead drums, acoustic guitars, and many other instruments. You can record knowing that every dimension of performance is being captured and reproduced to your expectations and beyond.

Pad, Rolloff and 9 Pickup Patterns -- Switchable by Remote Control

Your AKG P820 comes with a separate remote control unit that allows you to change microphone settings without touching the microphone itself (which may read more be carefully hung over a drum kit, inside a piano, or in front of an easily spooked vocalist!) On the front panel of this unit is a bass cut filter switch and a pad switch. The bass cut filter cuts at 80 Hz, dumping out unwanted low-end rumble or mud while you're tracking. The pad switch engages a -20 dB pad, which gives you a maximum SPL of up to 155 dB. There is also a polar pattern selector with nine different settings, including cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional figure-8, and six intermittent settings. With the remote control unit, you can vary the polar pattern of the microphone while you're tracking, and hear the difference.

Great for Virtually Any Setting

There's nothing quite like the natural and warm sounding reproduction of a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone. If you have your own recording space, then this microphone is not only great for recording intimate singer-songwriter sessions, it is also a great choice for recording voiceover.
