The higher SPL "Big Brother" to the A51, this upgrade of the Original A51s (Model "S") offers Improved Reliability, Improved Head-Room - A Broad - Brushstroke Multi-Application Mic!! Ray Charles had 6 Original "Model S" on Genius Loves Company CD.
Applications: S is for SPL! Vocals, Choirs, Acoustic Guitar, Fretted Instruments (Banjo, Mandolin, Dobro, etc.), Reeds and Woodwinds. Plus: Drums - Especially Floor Toms, Drum Overheads; Electric Guitar and Bass, All Percussion Instruments, Piano. In short, the "S" will do anything the A-51 does PLUS it is Designed for HIGH SPL MULTI-Applications. Megadeth, Ambrosia - Even Westlake Audio- use the "S" Series for Floor Toms. Megadeth also used them on Floor Toms and Bass Cabinets! Think of it this way: The Model S is SUPER-VERSATILE: A 'Swiss-Army' Mic!!!
