Expand Your Studio with 8 More Mic Pres
The Scarlett OctoPre and OctoPre Dynamic are perfect choices for those looking to step up the capabilities of their home studio, or who just need more available inputs they can depend on for headroom and clarity.
Both models feature eight of Focusrite's acclaimed Scarlett mic/line preamps, known for their rich detail and clarity and low noise. Engineers will find the headroom on these pres suitable for just about any recording work, including drums. The Scarlett OctoPre's 2 front-panel instrument inputs let you plug in your guitar, bass or keyboard to record direct.
Both OctoPres make things easy on the other end too, with ADAT output you can feed directly into any audio interface with an ADAT optical in. Both OctoPres also have 8 analog 1/4" outputs for connecting to a console or converter of your choice.

Another Layer of Dynamic Control
The OctoPre Dynamic gives you the same 8 Scarlett preamps, and adds a one-knob analog compressor on each input channel. Dial in gentle compression on each channel to smooth out peaks and fatten up tracks. Press the "More" switch on any channel to double its compression ratio for a more pronounced effect.
Focusrite gave the voltage-controlled-amplifier compressors in the OctoPre Dynamic a "soft knee" response, meaning the compression gradually takes effect as an input signal reaches the threshold you've set. This makes for a smoother and more subtle compression effect.
The OctoPre Dynamic also adds 2 banks of ADAT input ports, for even more flexbility.
