Swamp ash body Clear highs, strong mids and huge lows

The Sterling by Music Man JV60 James Valentine Signature Electric Guitar features a Certified Sustainable Mississippi Swamp Ash slab body. This model was designed in conjunction with the award-winning engineering team of Ernie Ball Music Man and Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine.

JV60 features a gorgeous Roasted Maple neck and fretboard, which not only give this guitar a striking appearance, but also an incredibly responsive feel. The Roasted Maple neck undergoes a very specialized kiln drying process which involves heating the wood to a specific temperature, or "Roasting" it, as the name implies. This removes excess moisture from the wood, which makes it stronger, more stable, lighter in weight, and, less susceptible to humidity changes. It also gives the player one of the most amazing feels in a neck. Topping the Roasted Maple neck is a 12" radius, 22 fret Roasted Maple fretboard with black "dot" style inlays.

At the heart of the electronics layout are two pickups (1-humbucker/1-single coil) wound and voiced to Music Man specifications, and wired to a 3-way pickup selector. Additionally, JV60 features an Active "push-push" 12dB circuit boost on the Volume control, allowing the player ultimate soloing power at their fingertips. This Active Circuit is powered by a 9V battery that loads into an easily accessed compartment on the rear of the instrument, and requires no tools, making battery changes user friendly and quick.

The no-nonsense Sterling by Music Man design "hardtail" read more string-through bridge features bent steel saddles, and is loaded "string through body" for fantastic sustain. The locking tuning machines are arranged in a 4+2 manner on the headstock, giving positive, in line string pull over the nut. String changes are easy with a slight turn of the locking wheel mechanism located on the rear of each tuning machine. James Valentine's signature adorns the headstock.

If you need/want a variety of sounds in one guitar, this is it. It's my new favorite even up against my American Special Strat. The tone and volume plus boost deliver a wide range of sounds from clean jazz to heavy crunch. It sounds great with my TSA5 tube amp. The neck is smooth and comfortable. A little deeper than the Strat but I like it. Build quality is excellent.

rock, blues
