Feature:
For the money the features are fine. I think the Dp01-fx is a little too much for only a few more features
Quality:
so far so good. Bought a factory resealed model. Could not tell the difference between that and new exceptt the owners manual had been read
Value:
No need to say more
Desirability:
A nice one would be noce if I could justify the expense
Sound:
Sound is what you would expect from a CD. No comparison to tape
Ease of Use:
Not quite as easy as my old Tascam 4 track tape. However for a digital recorder it is very easy to use. Took me 5 minutes to download song and burn to a CD
Support:
Not needed yet
Overall:
I will keep this until the technology changes dramatically

Feature:
Frequency adjustable EQ (2 bands), cassette-like recorder buttons, decent input pre-amps, aux. send/return, are all plusses. Limited to 2 simultaneous tracks in record-mode, another aux. send/return would be nice, & no XLR inputs nor phantom power, are minor negatives (at this price). No backlight on LCD is unforgivable!
Quality:
Doesn't seem overly fragile, all controls seem solid. Bottom of case is metal (not plastic like the top. I wouldn't hesitate to carry it from place-to-place, if need be.
Value:
You won't find these features on any other hard-drive recorder for this price-point.
Desirability:
Well, I bought one! The blue box is a little off-putting, but otherwise it gives the appearance of a well-made, well-designed tool.
But first and foremost, it's gotta work, and this does. I bought it based on features-for-price and Tascam's reputation.
Sound:
Digital sound- hard to go wrong here. Umpteen times better than any cassette-based machine. The built-in pre-amps are pretty good - very quiet.
Support:
Have no experience with the company's support system (I consider that a good thing!)
Overall:
For me, this will allow me do everything I want/need. There are some missing features found on pricier machines, but I can't imagine wanting to spend the money for them. I like it's ease-of-use best and it's blue box least.
