"The Mackie Hype"

Feature:
Its crazy that you have to use sub mixes to get to the main-outs. No other brand offers this kind of madness.Other than that, this mixer has more or less the same features as any mixing desk,

Quality:
I have heard that often on Mackie desks channels start to fail, could it be that Mackie and Behringer are about the same quality with the Mackie being just a fraction better, I think - Yes

Value:
Value... for the same money you can get a Yamaha or Soundcraft desk, this I would call value.

Desirability:
If I want a Mackie desk, Well, if I would have the choice between a Behringer and a Mackie, I probably would choose the Mackie. But if I could choose freely, I would not wan´t either of them.

Sound:
The sound of this mixer, yes, it sounds, it sounds crystal clear, a bit too clear for my liking.I would prefer a somehow more natural, more realistic sound. A Behringer desk sounds crystal clear too, but I guess the Mackie is just a little bit better build than any Behringer. If you want a good sound, get a Allan & Heath, a Yamaha or a Soundcraft desk. Yes, Mackie mixer are hyped in a big way, but why ?

Ease of Use:
Well, if you don´t mind that its not too easy to get a good sound via Mackies EQ´s,if you don´t mind that you have to use the sub mix faders to get to the L and R main outs, then I think this desk is fairly easy to use,... as any

Support:
I do not know, but heard good about their support.

Overall:
Overall, a Mackie would be an option..IF..there would not be better options for roughly the same money.

From Our Catalog
The new CFX.mkII Series mixers have been updated with more comfortable Onyx series knobs, new graphics for better visibility in less-than-ideal lighting conditions, and improved durability thanks to impact-resistant rubber side panels that have been added to the entire range. Best of all, the CFX.mkII mixers come at a price significantly lower than the original CFX series.

Available in 12, 16 and 20 channel configurations, the CFX.mkII Series mixers all feature four subgroups, precise nine-band stereo graphic equalizers for greater sonic control, and Mackie's high-quality EMAC TM 32-bit digital effects processor that virtually eliminates the need for outboard effects processors.

The exceptional EMAC (Extended Multiplication and Accumulation) processor started with the development of the best possible reverb, delay and modulation algorithms the Mackie engineers could devise. These algorithms are backed by a powerful 32-bit effects processor that is much better than the jangling 16-bit processors found on most other "effects" mixers available today.

All CFX.mkII mic/line channels have unbalanced inserts and input trim controls with individual Zero Level LEDs, 3-band EQ with swept midrange, and 100Hz low-cut filters. Each channel strip has a 60mm long-taper fader, one external, and one internal/external effects send; plus two aux sends, pan, mute, solo (PFL), and bus assigns. All three models allow two separate stage monitor mixes to be created with their own effects levels.

Like the original CFX Series mixers, the CFX.mkII Series mixers are designed for rugged, day-in and day-out road use. Their sturdy-yet-light steel construction houses rugged, double-sided SMT-plated fiberglass circuit boards as well as faders with ultra-tight lip seals for keeping out dust and other contaminants. The new Onyx-style knobs are mounted so that they ride just above the steel chassis and absorb impact without transferring damage to the internal components.
Mackie breaks the price-performance barrier again with their CFX mixers! Offering 20, 16, or 12 mic/line inputs plus 2 stereo channels, the Mark II series can handle your whole project. All preamp channels feature 3-band EQ and 3 aux sends! Onboard 32-bit digital effects with 16 presets adds sparkle to every track, and a 9-band stereo EQ shapes the final mix.
