Line 6 Variax 300 Steel Customer Review

Feature:
Comes with 110v adaptor that works excellent with the signal cable. Smart design. Also runs on 6 AA batteries, which I wish were fewer, but at least are common batteries instead of some hard to find kind. The best features are the programmed sounds you can choose from, and the built in tuner.

Quality:
Excellent quality. Mine was made in China, and what can you say? Depressing how nice it is (if you're an American)

Desirability:
It's great, but a little odd looking.

Sound:
Great sound, very clean rich, and full

Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. But make sure you use fresh batteries if you dont use the power adapter.

Support:
No experience with them yet, but they dont provide support on weekends.

About This Product!
Description
From Our Catalog
Innovative Design -- Classic Look and Sound
Variax Acoustic 300 Steel delivers authentic, detailed sounds without expensive instruments, microphones or a soundproofed studio space. With phenomenal feedback resistance and quiet, studio quality tone no matter what your live or recording environment, Variax Acoustic 300 Steel has it all at a price anyone can afford!

With a crucial set of tones inspired by the award-winning Variax Acoustic 700, Variax Acoustic 300 Steel goes from focused small-bodied to full-bodied jumbo and anywhere in between!

With Variax Acoustic 300 Steel, getting world-class tone is effortless. Variax Acoustic 300 Steel captures all the vibe of perfectly set up guitar and microphone in a great room.

From gentle fingerpicking in the studio without extraneous noise, to amplifying your songs on stage without feedback, Variax Acoustic Steel gives you incredibly detailed acoustic sounds every time!

Control Panel
Variax Acoustic 300 Steel gives you these intuitive tone-shaping options for dialing in the perfect sound for any recording session or live gig.

Body: The Body control is the center of the sonic engine for Variax Acoustic 300. By moving this control, you can easily go from a bright, small-bodied to a warm full-bodied jumbo and anywhere in between.

Vol: Just a simple volume control that you will probably leave all the way up.

Verb: Add some ambience to your acoustic sounds with this simple to use slider. By pushing it towards the Vol and Body controls, you can add a sense of space without sacrificing note definition and character.

Comp: The middle slider lets you change the level of compression on the fly. A normal compressor usually has a lot of tweaky controls to adjust, but we take care of all the complicated stuff for you. Just push the slider toward the Vol and Body controls for more compression, and away from the knobs for less.

Mic: This slider allows you to alter the position of the modeled microphone. As you move the slider closer to the soundhole (away from the Vol and Body controls), the modeled microphone is also getting closer to the soundhole and emphasizing the body's lower frequencies. Moving it away from the soundhole puts more emphasis on the strings and upper frequencies. Since this is all done in modeling, you can find your favorite sound without worrying about massive stage feedback or noise from your surrounding environment!

Prog: To really take advantage of the Variax Acoustic 300, especially when performing, you'll want to get some sounds ready for instant recall. This button allows you to scroll through any of the 10 preset sounds. Even better, you can save your own with any settings from the Body, Verb, Comp, and Mic controls.

Tune: That's right, no more reaching for that tuner at the last minute. You get an on-board chromatic tuner that even mutes the signal for silent stage or studio use.

Great Acoustic Sounds Right at the Output Jack
Whether you're doing a last minute gig at an intimate coffee house, or playing the biggest outdoor festivals in the world, Variax Acoustic 300 gives you studio tone without long set up times or complicated wiring problems. Included is a custom TRS cable and XPS-mini that powers the guitar and sends your signal to any DAW analog input or house PA.
