I would be in seventh heaven if not for the intonation problem. I feel very jerked around that I was sold a $1000 bass whose intonation can't be adjusted properly.
Sound
Sound is unbelievably awesome. Mid-sweep EQ is the only way to go. Great tone on every string, on every fret.
Features
The electronics are awesome. Single volume control (what a concept!), pickup pan pot, active bass/treble, and active mid/mid-sweep make for truly unlimited tone. You'll never have to touch your amp settings again. The combination of the active pickups and the active tone controls make for the best tone out of any bass I've ever played or owned.
Quality
I say quality is the worst, because of one fatal defect. Everything is top notch, except: the bridge saddles are incapable of adjusting the open/fretted intonation properly -- after moving the saddles all the way forward, the fretted intonation is still flat compared to open string. This is completely unacceptable in a $1300 bass guitar. I'm in the process of seeing what Ibanez's warranty can do for me on this issue. If they do anything, they will have to replace the whole bass for another one that's not f***'d up, I don't see how it can be "fixed".
Value
Not a good value at all if you can't set the intonation properly. If you buy one, make sure you adjust the intonation immediately, and return the bass if yours… read more has the same problem as mine.
