"My experience with the Hughes and Kettner Matrix 100"

Feature:
The greatest thing about this amp is the autostore effects. Gain and volume are a plus for each effect.

Quality:
Product is made very well with the musician in mind. 100 watts you can carry in one hand. My friend has another brand that is 100 watts also but has head and 4 speaker cabinet. I will be practicing before he gets his out of the van. I don't hesitate to take this amp anywhere from a 25 person bar to a 5000 person outdoor ampitheater. If theres anything I don't like about this amp, I haven't found it yet.

Value:
Trust me I shop around. For the price I paid, it was a great deal compared to others in this price range. Some were the price of this one and had only two channels.

Desirability:
The effects have a certain appeal as far as wanting/needing a new amp. As far as 'sex appeal'..well you know a amp is a amp. I never had a chick say 'Hey I'll go out with you because you have a Hughes and Kettner and not a Fender'. I'd say it was a practical addition.

Sound:
The sound is incredible overall. The clean channel leaves a little to be desired in my opinion, but will get by on.

Ease of Use:
Setting the amp was easy. It comes with a quick guide, or you can set it to your personal taste. The thing I love about this amp is the ease to switch sounds back and forth. I went from playing the 'Star Spangled Banner' on the warp effect, to 'To Late For Love' on the crunch effect, to 'Black Betty' on the lead effect, to 'Amie' on the clean drive and never touched a single knob on the amp.

Support:
I haven't personally had any trouble with this amp. I did visit their website, and the warranty with this amp seems fair enough.

Overall:
I will play it until it falls apart which should be many years. The on board effects should be all I will ever need. If this amp gets stolen or destroyed, I'd buy another just like it. This amp compares and goes beyond others I considered. The only thing I wish I knew before hand was how much fun this amp is to use. I'd bought it sooner. The most thing I love about this amp is the ease of switching sounds with the greatest of ease.

About This Product!
Description
The World's first Guitar Amp to feature the Autostore FX Matrix.

Picture this: You're playing a part using a sparkling clean sound, with lashings of chorus and reverb and a long delay to boot. Then you switch over to the lead channel and your sound instantly turns to slush! That effect configuration you dialed in for a sweet clean tone simply doesn't work with raucous overdriven sounds.

The solution: Invest in an outboard signal processor offering storable presets.

Or go for the far hipper option - the new Matrix amp featuring the Autostore FX Matrix. Each of its four channels is able to recall new multi effect settings - without you having to store them first!

Features
4 channels

Digital multi FX

FX Autostore for every channel

100-watt Current Feedback power amp

12 in. Celestion RockDriver Ultra speaker

4-way footswitch included

4 Channels
From shimmering clean to WARP scream, from ?80s-style lead cream to classic blues-approved sting, the new Hughes & Kettner Matrix amps deliver all the milestone guitar sounds at the touch of a button!

Separate Gain and Master knobs for all four channels let you tweak tones to suit your guitar and taste. And that translates to unrivalled ease of sound-shaping on the fly: In combination with the FX Matrix, you can select four fundamental sounds directly via the channel switches or the included footswitch!

Autostore FX Matrix
With every effect available in perfect quality, the integrated Multi FX processor serves up tasty reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and tremolo. But there's more on the menu than meat & potatoes effects, courtesy of the Matrix amps' ingenious Autostore function.
As the name would indicate, it automatically stores the most recently selected multi effect setting for each channel. This means that you can dial in a suitably configured effect setup for each channel and switch among four options at will. Finally, onboard digital effects make sonic sense in real-world application scenarios!
