"A really good piece of bass from Ibanez, plays like the best for alot less. Put the extra money you save into a good amp or take"

Feature:
good solid parts, no loose parts. I've played this bass for days & days & still running.

Quality:
The strong maple clear finish is sexy, my wife even likes it! It's a good solid bass with a fast neck, I have loooong fingers anyway so I play fast or slow with ease, & focus on creativity & not trying to play. use it on the road or in your secret woodshed spot. I played in a funky hipity hopity rockity band & never had a problem with it. The nobs are tarnishing but BFD. I do not plan on parting with this bass.

Value:
This bass is just a good solid bass that can handle all your needs. Ibanez really did good when they decided a few years ago to make higher end eqipment available to us reg. folks at lower prices. I did some research & I've sampled alot of other basses & it holds up very well. the only thing thats gona make you play better is to practice!

Desirability:
I have the clear maple model & I hear "beautiful" & "Wow thats nice." I'm a happily married dude, and yes I would consider a threesome with my sexy wife & bASS.

Sound:
the 3 band eq is really cool - everything from thump to funk, it sounds just like Megadeths Peace Sells But Who's buying opening bass riff, Slappy silly like Flea & good deep fat tone. great variation of tone. play this with a variax line 6 pod xt live & you have it all, the only thing to make sound better is quit wankin & start spankin (practice that is). Basically your amp will determine much of the sound quality as well. The great players of past often played with mediocre equipment that would be considered archaic in todays electronic/digital world!

Ease of Use:
on board 3 band eq makes adjusting tone very easy, low & fat to tight & squeaky. I basically could'nt tell the difference between a much more expensive bass when played thru a amp modeling pedal board. what it comes down to is that it is very playable & if it feels/sounds good then you will want to play it!

Support:
Like the Maytag repairman, never had to deal with em'

Overall:
I will always keep this bass, maybe the next one will be some super computerized interactive bass that you plug into your ? If I lost this bass I would probably get the same or similar Ibanez fast neck style with active pickups again. No complaints with this bass epecially for the price. Just like any instrument make sure it is set up for you to you liking.

"this is probably one of the greatest basses ever."

Feature:
probably the most useful feature is the slap EQ.

Quality:
at first i was constantly worried that i was going to dent or break something, but after i dropped it on my drive-way and it didn't leave a scratch, i was pretty much convinced it wouldn't get hurt.

Value:
if anything i would say that it was under priced

Desirability:
tell you what. as a man who use to loved to date, i'm perfectly content staying at home with my bass.

Sound:
the sound is incredable. i play just about anything from picking to tapping to slapping and this bass sounds great no matter what. i've been playing bass for almost two years now and it's easily the best bass i've ever played. it's improved my playing speed a lot. get this bass.

Ease of Use:
this is without a doubt the most playable bass out there. i've come up with lines that i can't play on any other bass. it is the fastest, easiest bass to play ever.

Overall:
over all i'd say that this is possibly the only bass i'll actually sleep with. i'll probably never replace it.

From Our Catalog
Ibanez first introduced the Soundgear bass in 1987. That same bass continues to be one of the world's most played basses. Why Because it is not the same bass. Certainly it's still the sleekest and sexiest. And with all SR models featuring active electronics, it's still the most tonally versatile. It still has the fastest neck. But they've continued to improve and update the Soundgear line.

When the Soundgear first came out, a highly compressed sound was popular. Now players demand a heavier sound with a more human touch. To accommodate these changes, they changed the Soundgear. And now the range of Soundgears is staggering - everything from the elite instruments you can see in the Prestige section to the new amazingly low priced GSR models.
