"Killer Look/ Killer Sound"

Feature:
Neck-thru-body construction, wicked tribal inlays, EMG 35-DC active pickups, 3 band parametric eq. What more do you want?

Quality:
I had to give a low mark here because I found a shorted wire in the preamp. I pulled out the shorted wire, resotered a new one and haven't had a problem since. For me it was no big deal but for somone who has no electornics experience this could have ended up being a nightmare.

Value:
This guitar's retail price is $999 but any ESP authorized dealer should have no problem letting one go for about $700 out the door.

Desirability:
Sad to say but the look is the whole reason I bought this thing. I'm sure thats the reason your looking at this bass as well. If your going for the heavy metal look, there isn't a tougher looking bass on the market.

Sound:
I play in a progressive metal band and have no trouble getting the sound that I want out of this bass. Sounds great going through my SWR rig in live sounds or plugged direct in to my Digi002 for recording. It could be compared to an Ibanez Soundgear on steroids but less noisey. Unless your looking at spending over $1500 I don't think you could get a better sounding bass.

Haven't had to use them yet.

Overall:
I love this bass but beware of electrical problems. If your lucky and get one with no defects then I have no doubt you will love it too.

"The best bass I've played, seriously!"

Feature:
It had all the features of a Fender Deluxe American and more for half the price.

Value:
This thing is worth at least $1000, but you can get it here for $700!

Desirability:
This thing is as sexy as Pamela Anderson!

Sound:
The sound is outstanding! It is clear and distinctive with even the crappiest amp!

Overall:
An amazing bass-this thing is cool, it's sexy, it sounds awesome, and it has made me a much better bassist.

Get the true extended low end range of a 5-string bass with the same feel as a 4-string bass. ESP's totally cool neck-thru-body DF404 is tuned B-E-A-D, like the lower 4 strings of a 5-string bass. You get the best of both worlds with absolutely no sacrifice in your playing style. And to drive all this low end, the DF404 is loaded with EMG 35-DC active pickups and EMG's B64 active 3-band EQ. Other features include a mahogany body, a maple-walnut neck with a rosewood fingerboard, an insane Tribal graphic inlay and 24 extra jumbo frets. The DF404's hardware is cosmo black.

5-piece Maple/Walnut Neck
This neck design provides a very solid feel and an improved transfer of tone from the neck to the body. Increased neck stability and performance will man less frequent truss rod adjustments

Double Action Truss Rods
All ESP/LTD guitars and basses feature a 'double-action' truss rod design. Unlike a normal (single) truss rod, this one is adjustable in two different directions. This means that you'll never run into a situation where the neck has 'run out of adjustment'. Regardless of which ESP model you choose, you'll get years and years of playing enjoyment.
