Support:
At this time no contact with the company. However, my father had dealings with Gibson during the mid 1962's, having the fingerboard on his 1931 mastertone banjo replaced. The company did not follow his instructions. they failed to replace with the same inlays and materials stating that the artists did not exist to do this level of craftmanship. What he received instead was a cheaper 1960's style replacement. They also did not return his origional fingerboard stating that it had been broken during its removal.
My father never bought another Gibson product again. I will follow suit if a problem arises.
Overall:
I expect to keep this bass. It seems to work for me. I like the action and sound. I have no idea if I would replace it or not. It has limitations as far as I am concerned, in the weight department. I do not intend to use it with a strap if at all possible. A chair or stool with a foot rest is preferable.
