Overview
The Peavey all-tube JSX 212 combo guitar amplifier translates the tonal flexibility and responsive, and versatile gain structures of the JSX head into a combo amp. The JSX 212 is the latest product of the company's partnership with legendary virtuoso Joe Satriani.
Augmenting the original JSX amp's three-channel, 120 watt configuration are two custom-designed 12" JSX speakers in an open-back design, plus a master analog reverb and line out with level. The amp also includes global presence and resonance controls; three-band EQ and level on each channel; and FAT switches and a fully adjustable noise gate for the Ultra and Crunch channels.
"We designed the JSX 212 not only for practicality, but also tone and versatility," says Satriani. "The amp's tone comes to life in a big way using this 2x12 design, and the relationship between the combo and the player sets up an interesting interplay that you can't get with a head. It's a special experience having the amp and speakers in one unit."

"I've finally found the sound I hear in my head."
Haha! I expect my kids to sell this someday, I won't part with it. I didn't just put all 10s in here for nothing, I'm super obsessive about tone and features and this has everything I need to do everything I play from classical to rock to instrumental/metal music in any venue.
Sound
Absolutely crushing! The scale only went up to 10, I would rate it higher for it's versatility of sound as well as quality. All 3 channels excel at what they do, and the EQ's respond unlike on some amps where it doesn't really change the sound much. The clean channel can't be overdriven and is like a bell, the distortion channels are quiet even at high gain/volume more so than any amp I've heard, anywhere. There's a Noise gate but it's really not needed, the amp is just that well engineered. Also, the reverb isn't just reverb, it's REVERB, all caps intended (classic long spring) It doesn't hide sloppy technique, and allows a player to connect directly to his instrument with clarity and dynamic response. I'm speechless at this amplifier, you need to go out right now and try one and your ears will tell you what I can't describe here. After all these years my search is ended, my ears are in love.
Features
I love the fact I can use the external effects loop (I don't generally use effects outside of some reverb) as a volume boost for leads, effectively giving me 6 channels! I also like the metal construction of the footpetal,… read more seems very robust, plus I don't use reverb on/off switches and really appreciated the A/B distortion switch. The full/half power switch (60/120) on the back is really useful for shaping tone, and it sounds absolutely amazing at low volume. The knobs don't just look good, I can dial in a excellent sound so low that I can hear the physical pick attack on my guitar which is great for playing late... usually you go from 0 to Umm this is pushing It at high gain settings, not with this amp. Must say too I've always looked for amps with separate EQs for channels, but one for each EQ plus the Resonance and Presence... priceless. The only possible addition I can think of would be a parametric EQ, however there are "Fat" shift switches on both distortion channels, so it actually doesn't need one... I can't believe I just wrote that! On back, a line out with a separate volume for it, an Ohms switch (4/8/16)for external speaker setups, and terminals so you can even check the bias without opening it up. Ground polarity switch to help deal with interference noise too.
Ease of Use
Normally I fight for hours with EQs to get a good sound. Even all 5's across the board sounds great, which is something I've never experienced before. This amp actually allows the guitar tone to come through.
Quality
Solid as a tank. I've played Peaveys for years and never had one die on me, although I haven't had this one long I'd give Peavey a 10 based on that alone. No need for a backup.
Value
Best bang for the buck, condensed into a 212 combo. If something happened to this I'd replace it in a second.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had to deal with them except to get information, because nothing I've owned from them has ever failed me.
The Wow Factor
I really like the metal knobs and clean design, everything looks heavy duty. I can't believe the features they put into it, and the back panel is full of amazing features. Even the speakers on this amaze me, the driver magnets are absolutely huge.
