About This Product!
Description
From Our Catalog
Simulated reverbs offer great control of individual parameters but can't accurately reproduce the sound of real acoustic spaces. Convolution reverbs are sample-based, and so capture natural reverb, but haven't offered the flexible controls of simulated reverb -- until now.

IR-L is Waves' "light" convolution reverb, offering the same great sound and impulse responses as IR-1 but with fewer controls for simpler, more efficient operation.

Features
Convolution Start Control lets you trim the beginning of an impulse response to eliminate unwanted predelay.

Extensive Library of Impulse Response Samples with Different Micing Options.

Dynamic Preset Handling. Adding or removing presets is now easier, with the preset menu reflecting the impulse response samples contained in the presets folder.

96 kHz support for high resolution.

Reverb Time RT60. Unlike existing products, IR-L uses unique impulse response (IR) manipulation techniques to allow shortening (times 4) of the reverb time while maintaining acoustic coherence and preserving the natural envelope and frequency content.

CPU Usage Control. Special Efficient-Stereo components requiring less processing power; A low CPU mode utilizing intelligent algorithms that require less CPU usage while preserving high sound quality and definition.

Convolution Length Control. This allows control over the length of the actual real-time convolution. Therefore the CPU load can be reduced if desired by using a shorter convolution length while maintaining the RT60.

IR CD-ROM Library
The new and innovative recording technique used in capturing Waves IR library is based on the culmination of years of research (presented at the AES 24th International Conference) by leading acoustician Prof. Angelo Farina of Parma University in Italy, renowned for his research work in archiving architectural acoustics. Waves has underwritten the research of Prof. Farina and that collaboration has yielded a world class library for Waves convolution reverb products that establishes new benchmarks for clarity and accuracy in sampling reverbs.

Waves unique IR capturing method gives the following benefits:
-- Superior signal to noise response

-- IRs (Impulse Responses) that generate early reflection information correctly correlated to preserve and enhance the original audio's stereo position. The audio source can be accurately placed in the reverb by just using the stereo reverb send.

-- Very low harmonic-distortion

-- 100% scalability to any channel-format, from mono through stereo to various future surround options.

-- Recording of the complete wave-field using a special calibrated 360 method for future wave-field-synthesis.

-- Exceptional quality -- The whole IR capture and post processing is done at 96 kHz using innovative techniques to maintain its high resolution and signal to noise ratio.
