Kerly Kues electric guitar strings are built to meet the demands of the modern guitarist. Their unique, innovative CYCLECOAT process combines Thermal Cycling (a superior form of cryogenic metal tempering) with Anti-Friction/Anti-Wear coatings. Kerly Kues' CYCLECOAT increases durability and dramatically reduces wear. Strength, sound and string life are enhanced.
The Technology behind Kerly Music Products
Strings
All of Kerly Music's electric and acoustic guitar strings are conditioned with an advanced form of cryogenic freezing and metal tempering called Thermal Cycling. This treatment strengthens the string at the molecular level, ads tonal crispness, increases durability and dramatically resists corrosive elements that reduce the life and tone of your strings. Tuning is less frequent, and a smoother surface feel is created with stellar bendability.
By seasoning the string between temperatures ranging from -320F to + 350F, ColdfireThermal Cycling provides vastly different results than normal cryogenic and other polymer coated strings that are available. You can be assured that you are playing strings with an exclusive metal tempering process used to capture the unique sound and durability of Kerly Music Strings.
Their premiere brand, Kerly Kues, combines an additional feature for their patent-pending Cyclecoat process. Anti-Friction and Anti-Wear coatings are added to the string at the critical point of contact with the saddle. These coatings ad additional support and benefits for the strings durability.
The Kerly Kues package consists of a rust inhibiting, moisture free, ziplock foil pouch which keeps the strings tightly sealed and protected from mother nature's elements that can cause premature aging and oxidation. Inside each pouch is a moisture evaporating dessicant which further enhances their sealed tight-sound right packaging.
What is Thermal Cycling
Kerly Music is licensed by COLDFIRE TECHNLOLOGIES to condition their strings with COLDFIRE's revolutionary cryogenic process. It extends the life of metals and plastics up to 600%. By exposing the metals to sub-zero and hot temperatures over and over again within a 24 to 48 hour period, the strength and wear resistance is improved dramatically. The benefits to guitar strings are:
Crisper Sound
Smoother Feel
Enhanced Durability
Easy Tuning
Longer Tonal Life
Thermal Cyling is used by NASA, Ford Motor Company, Vette Brakes & Prods., Pride Plating Aerospace to new a few. Kerly Music is among some of the world's most well known manufacturers using this process.
What are Anti-Friction/Anti-Wear Coatings
These specialized coatings reduce wear and ease friction to anything they cover. They are designed to offer low friction for light load repetitive stresses. In general, moving parts wear longer, work harder and need less maintenance when coated. Kerly Musicm coats the string at the point where it rests on the saddle. This "stress zone" is where 90% of string breakage occurs and by coating the strings at this critical spot gives them extra protection and eases friction and stress. Your strings don't look like they are moving, but they are, in very small and unseen ways. All the bending, tuning, plucking and picking moves them around at this point. These coatings are used in a wide variety of applications such as piano action parts, pistons, gears, etc.
What is the Cyclecoat process
Cyclecoat is Kerly Music's patent-pending combination of both Thermal Cycling and the application of Anti-Friction/Anti-Wear coatings. Thermal Cycling provides both a surface and structural treatment, working from the inside out, conditioning the entire mass of the string. The surface addition of Anti-Friction/Anti-Wear eases friction and wear where the string rests on the saddle.
Kerly Music feels that by using both of these innovative features, they give the player the best chance to offset wear and tear of normal strings, while enhancing sound and tone.
What is Saddle Juice
Saddle Juice is a string stress lubricant engineered to aid in string stress relief. It is a PTFE based coating that is supplied in an easy to apply brush top bottle. Before string changes, a small amount of coating is wiped on the saddle. After drying quickly, it microscopically lubricates the surface between the string and saddle. By adding a smoother saddle surface, the string is not prone to catch and break at this critical stress zone.
One bottle of Saddle Juice will last for dozens of string changes.
