"A Steal!"

Feature:
No onboard preamp, but do you really want a whole in your 'solid' guitar.

Value:
This guitar sounds and plays better then some Martin, Taylor and Takamine guitars in the $1200-$1800 range.

Overall:
I still prefer this guitar over my dad's Takamine that lists for $1600!

Description

The Guild GAD-40CE is the acoustic-electric version of the popular GAD-40C. The Guild GAD-40CE was designed utilizing a body shape that is the most popular acoustic body shape in the world and has been used for over 70 years.

To accommodate modern playing styles, they added a Venetian cut-a-way for ease in reaching the higher registers of the guitar. They use solid Mahogany for the back and sides, a solid spruce top that features scalloped bracing, and then joined the one piece mahogany neck with the traditional dovetail neck joint.

For other appointments on the GAD-40CE we use Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. We continued the use of high quality tone woods by featuring ebony for the pearl dot inlayed bridge and strap pins, then added wood bindings, and Grover Rotomatic tuning gears. For the best in tone and intonation, Guild installed a bone nut and bone compensated saddle.

To take advantage of the tonality of this instrument, Guild added Fishman Acoustic Matrix Electronics for shaping its sound with clarity. For the finishing touches they inlayed classic pearl fingerboard inlays and then pack the instrument in a wooden arched case. A guitar worthy of representing over 50 years of fine guitar building by Guild Guitars.
