"The Yamaha BR line is a cheap speaker, not worth the price."

Feature:
Nice cabinets.

Quality:
Cheap drivers. Paper cone woofer is really cheap. It is a eminence.

Value:
Cheap speaker, cheap price.

Desirability:
Speakers look good.

Sound:
Cheap speaker, cheap sound. The highs are too bright and the lows are just not present.

Ease of Use:
Very easy to hook up.

Support:
Not good.

Overall:
Cheap drivers, bad sound. You get what you pay for.

"Yamaha BR12: Great speakers for short cash!"

Feature:
Not much to say about features, other than the titanium driver is way better for the highs than a piezo. The 12 inch woofer is quite nice, Eminence, I believe.

Quality:
In this price range, can't be beat. Strong, lightweight cabinets, everything nice and tight, full grill to protect both woofer and horn, strong, well-placed handle for easy transport.

Value:
Can't be beat in this price range. The value is so good that you start looking at the S12V Club Speakers (another steal!)

Desirability:
Good looks, and with the light weight you don't hate to cart them around. In my eye, Yamaha's simplicity and attention to detail makes them attractive. You'll never be embarrassed to place a Yamaha up on a speaker stand.

Sound:
The Best I've heard in this price range. Good bass, excellent highs. Great for vocals and acoustic/electric guitar.

Ease of Use:
Plug it in...

Support:
Had experience with my old AS-108 speakers (blown woofer - my fault...). Spoke to technical support for suggestions. Recommendation was excellent. They were more concerned with me being happy than trying to make a buck.

Overall:
I listened to a lot of speakers before buying these. Peavey's, JBL's, EV, Kustom, and other Yamaha's (SM12v). For the money, these sounded best to my ears. The JBL's and EV's sounded better, but for 50% more, they should have! I also listened to the BR15's and found these better for vocals. What I like best is the light weight (35 lbs). I can carry and load them onto the stands with no assistance.

From Our Catalog
The new BR-Series from Yamaha combines affordability with high performance. Five BR models are designed to fit the budgets of performing musicians, small churches, and schools, while delivering the full frequency response and high output of more costly systems. While "BR" presents "bass reflex", it also proves very appropriate for describing the line's advanced feature set...

Built Right: Combining their knowledge of acoustics and advanced computer controlled woodworking, Yamaha Music Manufacturing in Thomaston, Georgia, crafts the BR line of sound reinforcement loudspeakers to exacting standards. Each model's large steel handles, corner protectors, and built-in pole sockets, assure both durability and flexibility.

Better Response: BR cabinets are carefully designed for the best balance of small, easy to handle size and great low-frequency response, using Bass Reflex technology. High-frequency response is also enhanced with a 1" new titanium HF driver and 90? by 40? non-resonant horn.

Best Reliability: All BR-Series models are covered by a three-year warranty. With integral protection circuitry built into the passive crossover, you can expect a long life of high output and minimal distortion. Whichever model you choose, your message is sure to be heard using BR-Series loudspeakers... and you can take the savings to the bank!
