"Great moniter for small and medium rooms."

Feature:
There is a tone cut and boost pot on the back of the speaker that allows you to customise the sound to better fit your room. I suggest sticking to the 0db factory setting unless you have sound treated your studio. Of course there is a volume pot as well.

Quality:
The construction is solid, and there are no vibrations anywhere. The asthetics are great as well. I have the model with the silver cone that just came out, and it looks great. I don't move my moniters around since I spent a whole day finding the best place for them in my studio, a but I would imagine that they are very rugged. They do take a beating in my studio since I play a lot of experimental music (which involves lots of loud mutated sounds that are hard on the speaker),but they always come back for more.

Value:
This was a great value to me as

Desirability:
The moniters look great. I went for the more subdued silver cone instead of yellow, but both are nice. I use ProTools 7.4 and my MBox Pro is my only audio device, so if I want to listen to music with the lights off, the small white lights don't blind me. My old M-Audios had an intense blue light that looked like a space ship at night.

Sound:
I listened to the RP5s, RP6s, and RP8s as well as Behringer B2031As and a pair of Yamaha HS50Ms. I decided to go with the RP6s because my control room is so small and I was very price concious. The RP6s have a very rouded sound. The highs sparkle and the lows are great in my small room. I couldn't tell a difference in the midrange with any of the moniters mentioned above. I don't use a sub because I tend to have very treble heavy mixes if I do, so these were perfect. If your room is small to mid sized, I would go with the RP6s and place them right behind the meter bridge for a sweet, accurate representation of your mix.

Ease of Use:
Just plug em in. They take a few weeks to break in properly.

Support:
I've never had to deal with KRK, but I do have a 2 year warranty with the moniters. KRK will actually refund me the purchase price of the speakers if there is an issue (includes all components). That way I can either upgrade or replace with the same model.

Overall:
This will be a great moniter as long as the size of my studio does not change. I heard a huge difference between this and some of the 8" speakers when I was auditioning them in a larger room. These just happen to be the right workhorse for the job. They will stay as long as I don't move!

Feature:
Not alot of tweeking, which is great for me. Just plug and play..

Quality:
Very well designed and built.

Value:
For the price, they are perfect. Specially over the 5's of any other brand.

Desirability:
Get a nice stand for them.. They look great.

Sound:
Bought both the KRK RP5 and 6's yesterday to do a side by side. Very impressed with them both. Was amazed by how much more the 6's produced over the 5's. Concidering there pretty much the same as the 6's have just a inch bigger woffer speaker, tad more wattage, and bigger box. But the tone output of the 6's was huge over the 5's. Bass octives keys had a really noticable different as well as much richer deeper bass thump music play back, The bit lowe Frequency response 49Hz really makes a big difference. Took the 5's back for the extra hundred. The 6's where worth every cent. They just lite up the room for overall in your face tone.. As well as lowering them a tad for close monitoring or keyboard play. Neat.. Km

Ease of Use:
These monitors sounded great with everything I put throught them last night, CD's, TV, Ipod and specially the keyboard.

Premium bookshelf monitors!
When KRK Systems prepares to design a monitor, their primary goal is to deliver a true acoustic interpretation of the mix. In other words, what you put in is exactly what comes out. Their line of Rokit Powered studio monitors is no exception. The RP6 incorporates many of the high-end features found on KRK's premium series products, and delivers them at a price perfect for home- and project-studio budgets.

Precision-matched components
The RP6 Is an active, bi-amped monitor with 50 Watts for the woofer, 18 Watts for the tweeter, and an integrated 2.6 kHz electronic crossover. Unlike passive monitors, KRK specially matches the power section, electronics, and output drivers for streamlined performance. You can be sure all frequencies from 49 Hz to 20 kHz are sent to the most capable speaker, with enough power to provide plenty of volume without distortion. The cleaner and more precise the monitor output, the tighter your mixes will be. You won't believe the details you've been missing, once you hear your music through Rokit monitors.

Quality drivers for full-range performance
While many speaker manufacturers use a cheaper polypropylene material for their drivers, KRK's six-inch woofer is made with a proprietary glass-aramid composite, woven in their signature yellow color. Similar to Kevlar, this speaker delivers tight, articulate bass response with a surprising amount of feel for such a small size. The one-inch soft-dome tweeter offers natural, balanced high-frequency reproduction for clean tone and reduced ear-fatigue during long mixing sessions. Where other other bookshelf monitors tend to be thin and midrange-focused, the RP6 pushes the full frequency range, emphasizing subtle dynamic expression that might otherwise get lost in the mix. When other project studios are turning-out Toyotas, You'll be delivering Ferraris.

Improved cabinet for better sound
Every component in an RP-series monitor is designed with your music in mind. Even the cabinet helps improve your mix. Most monitor enclosures are little more than rectangular boxes with sharp corners. These squared-off edges tend to diffract, or spread out, audio waves as they pass through. This leads to an overall muddying of the mix and an unfocused stereo image. Since the essence of a good mix is the ability to balance each sonic element in its own space through the stereo field, you can see how diffraction can be a problem. The RP6 has rounded corners to reduce edge diffraction, clean up the stereo image, and enhance the "sweet spot" where you most accurately hear the mix. When you hear everything, you can polish the little details that transform a good mix into great one.

Slotted bass ports
As with any small-footprint monitor, bass ports are essential to a big, full sound. These ports let the lower frequencies travel outside the enclosure to develop naturally throughout the room. Traditional bass ports are round, which tend to trap some of these frequencies. The lows bounce off of each other inside the port, causing distortion as they leave the cabinet. KRK uses a slotted port design at the bottom of RP monitors to drastically reduce distortion and deliver rich, focused low end. Again, the more accurate your monitors, the better your mix.

Versatile connection options
Regardless of your audio environment, RP6's will fit right in. The back panel features XLR and 1/4-inch balanced TRS inputs along with unbalanced RCA connections. Hook them up to a computer production studio, standalone recording workstation, or mobile DJ rig for pristine playback. The speaker drivers are magnetically shielded to protect sensitive CRT monitors and hard drives from damage. No matter how big or small your studio, Rokit RP6's help you achieve the professional-quality results your music deserves.
Rokit powered monitors feature several of the key design elements found in KRK's premium models; many of which have become the "studio standard" for the world's finest engineers, producers and musicians. Now, you can have that same KRK sound, attention to detail and commitment at a price that makes Rokit powered a truly uncommon value.

All KRK Rokit powered monitors feature a proprietary signature yellow woofer made of a woven glass aramid composite that delivers a tight low-end response and a soft dome tweeter for natural sounding highs. The drivers are electronically crossed over and are bi-amped for increased efficiency. All of this is housed in an attractive cabinet with radiused corners that reduce edge diffraction resulting in better audio imaging. The rear input panel features phone plug and XLR connectors to accommodate any application.
