"cant get a better sounding monitor for the money."

Feature:
no

Quality:
it seems to be solid construction, but i dont move them, one concern though i also can hear a hiss when the gain is turned up (kind of annoying)

Value:
great price for the sound quality (in my opinion better then the over priced events)

Desirability:
very appealing nice to look at ,even better to listen to.

Sound:
i do alot of hip-hop and r&b tracks, so bass is important so i added a krk rokit 10 sud, and if i could put the sound quality of the m1 active 620 in one word it would be (orgazmic)

Ease of Use:
i have a home project studio made and listened to alot of dry tracks on em, have not mastered on them yet.

Support:
havent had to deal with em.

Overall:
the only way i would replace these monitors is if alesis came out with a better series of the ones i already have.

Style of Music: hip-hop , r&b and classical.

"Not bad"

Feature:
A small amount of adjustments on the back. Not many variations, but good enough for me, they sound best flat anyway.

Quality:
I've used Alesis products for a while and have never had any issues.

Value:
You can't beat the price performance when compared to other powered monitors.

Sound:
I upgraded from unpowered Alesis Monitor One MKIIs. The sounds characteristics are remarkably similar. I'd have to say that the highs are smoother though, much less ear fatique. The bass also seems more controlled and less muddy. The imaging is very good with low distortion at all noise levels I've tried. I have a small project studio so they get loud enough for me. The bass is ok but there is only so much a 6 1/4 woofer can do. The frequencies do roll off fairly smoothly when they do get too low. One complaint, if you stick your head near the tweeters when the power is on but with gain all the way down, you can hear a faint hiss. I don't know if all powered monitors do this, but it's fairly annoying considering I have a very quiet room.

Ease of Use:
If you understand what powered monitors are, this is easy.

Support:
Never dealt with them

Overall:
I'm still within the return period and may look around at other monitors to see if they have that hiss at no volume problem. Not many fall within this price range. I may look at KRK.

News
The Alesis M1 Active 520 is a newly designed, affordable, high-precision active reference monitor with Bass Density control and EQ. The M1 Active series offers incredible definition and flat frequency response from the high-precision drivers and a professionally crafted crossover. The cabinet and drivers have been redesigned for a bold new look and even greater sonic clarity.

The M1 Active 620 has a 1 in. thick front baffle, which minimizes speaker resonance, and the visually stunning acoustic waveguide evenly disperses high-frequency sound across your control room. The M1 Active includes new Bass Density technology, which allows you to tailor these monitors to any room's acoustics. The distinctive top-mounted power/clip indicator lets you know if the speaker is clipping.

The M1 Active 620 features a 100-Watt amplifier and 6.5 in. low frequency woofer.

Features
6.5 In. low frequency woofer for clear bass and midrange

1 in. silk dome tweeter for clear highs without ear-fatiguing harshness

High-precision drivers offer lower distortion and smoother frequency response

Acoustical waveguide for superior imaging with minimal diffraction

1 in. thick front baffle virtually eliminates speaker resonance

Magnetically shielded for close placement to video monitors in computer based music production studios

1/4 in. TRS connector with volume control

Low Frequency Density Switch for acoustic space adjustment of the monitors

Rear port design provides deep bass extension and increased SPL

Hi, Mid, and Low Frequency EQ switches to accommodate user preference and sub-woofers

Top mounted, integrated Power Switch/Clip Light Bar
The third generation of M1 Actives, the 100-watt 620 and 75-watt 520 feature a new 'Bass Density' switch and hi/mid/low EQ switches which allow you to sculpt the sound to match your room's acoustic response or pair them with a subwoofer. The 520 employs a 5" woofer and a 1" soft dome tweeter for smooth highs; the 620 uses the same tweeter with a larger 6.5" woofer for deeper bass.
