Feature:
I really like the maple neck with the cool walnut stripe down the back. The body is nicely shaped and fits comfortably against my body when sitting. The controls are really Spartan. It would have been nice if they put a label on the pickup selector to indicate which direction to turn it for the humbuckers or the neck pickups. Accessories? It came with Allen wrenches for the neck truss and bridge set screws. No paper work was in the box at all other than the Squier label on the pick guard.
Quality:
Everything about the Squier '51 is better than I expected. The fit and finish is very good - especially considering the low price. I'm happy with the quality of the tuning machines, the pickups and the bridge.
Value:
The value of the Squier '51 is excellent. About the only thing they could do to improve the value would be to give them away.
Desirability:
It's a cool looking guitar. It's not flashy, but enjoys a nice retro look. I got the sunburst model. The wood grain, while not fancy, isn't unattractive. The pick guard is huge. I'd prefer it if the pick guard didn't extend as far north of the sixth string, but I just tell myself, "That's what a Squier '51 looks like."
Sound:
It sounds better than I expected, right out of the box. I think it's well suited to blues, country, and rock 'n' roll strumming.
Ease of Use:
The neck is fast, and the set-up was fairly good out of the box. The frets on mine were nicely finished and not sharp at all. I think it's very playable.
Support:
I don't know. I don't expect to have to use support for this guitar. There's not much to go wrong.
Overall:
For the time being, I think this guitar will satisfy me for quite a long time. I don't feel like I'm fighting the guitar, and that it will allow me to concentrate on playing better.

Feature:
I love the push/pull vol knob which turns the humbkr. pup into a single coil. What should be the tone knob is a rotary pup selector. 5 tones come from this set up. H, H&S, S, H as a S, H as a S&S. Typical Squire parts I guess. I don't have a complaint about the componants or the guitar itself. I did add strap locks. I may also change the tuners to planet waves trimlocs simply because I am lazy.
Quality:
I was sooo suprised at the quality of this Squire, I wondered if it was made in the USA. The frets were finished very nicely. The neck was straight and true. The intonation was right on. The black finish was nice. The pickguard even had a bevel on it. The nut could have been made out of a better material, that's it.
Value:
I feel like I stole this guitar. It is worth at least $250.00. You are getting a great value for the money.
Desirability:
I love the Strat body with the Tele neck, just love it. I did not care for the big '51 style pickguard at first, but I am getting used to it. It dosen't bother me any more. It kind of makes it stand out. It seems to say " Hey, I'm not just another Strat. I am my own guitar."
Sound:
5 Very musical and useable tones can be had with this guitar. The Humbucker turns into a bridge single coil with the pull of the Vlo. knob. My favorite sound is the Humbucker and the single coil strat pup. I play Gospel music and need to have Funk, Pop, R&B, Blues, Jazz sounds at my disposal, this guitar gets the job done. The sound of this guitar is better than my PRS CE 22 and Ibanez S series. For the price you can't go wrong. You WILL BE SUPRISED !!
Support:
Have not delt with the company but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Overall:
I would replace this baby if something ever happened. This guitar is everything I want in a guitar and it was so cheap I still think I stole it. I would get one in each color if I thought my wife wouldn't leave me.
