The ultimate in bass construction and quality.
Overview
The EDA series is the future of bass and bass players. The lighter Luthite body takes away the weight and heavy feel to the bass, but leaves all the qualities you would ewant out of a normal body material. The low-profile bridge and wider neck provide wide spacing for right and left hand fingering. The Fishman Piezo Mono-Rail II bridge is another great feature of the EDA Series. The Piezo pickups provide clarity and offer crystal clear definition. They also produce a bigger, warmer sound - and at much higher volumes before distortion than you can get with only a magnetic pickup.
You want more? You got it. The EDA Series also utilizes reversed tuning machines which allow straight line stringing from nut to post for more precise tuning and more consistent string-to-string tension.

Ibanez EDA905 5-String Customer Review
Sound
I love tone differences that can be created by just changing the volume between the two pickups.
The constuction between the neck and body allows for vibration and fullness unlike any other bass I have ever played.
I could go on forever about how clear the chords and harmonics sound anywhere on the neck.
Features
Overall the design of this bass is spectacular to say the least, but there are a few small details to be critiqued.
I found that with certain types of strings, the groove in the saddle is too small for a B string that is fully wrapped all the way to the ball. This causes only partial contact to the peizo pickup and a loss in fullness. I usually endup flattening that section of the string with a hammer so that it will sit fully into the groove.
Quality
The virtually unscratchable finish suits my gig needs that give it quite the beating.
I do tighten things on a regular basis with it but its expected when its vibrating constantly.
This bass will last at least 5 more years before I would expect to have to take it to a shop for fret work or electronic work
The Wow Factor
The curves that give it that futuristic look and the metalic harware set off by the flat gray color definatley makes it stand out but stick out at any show
