zZounds Gear Experts Say...
The guitarists' acoustic-electric.
Overview
The AEF30 acoustic-electric features the AEQ-SS Shape Shifter EQ and the Fishman Soncicore pickup, which work together to give your audience the most clear and real guitar sound possible, fresh from the strings to their ears. The Shape Shifter is also one of most unobtrusive EQ's available. It gives you more volume, with less distortion than other EQ's. The Shape Shifter also eliminates feedback with a phase reversal switch.Battery changing is easy with a separate battery compartment, and the low battery light gives you plenty of warning when your battery power is low, which won't happen often, due to circuitry that promotes long battery life.
The AEF1812 also features Ivorex Saddle. Ivorex responds faster, and produces much more clear tones, with stronger highs and lows. Ivorex is also much stronger than bone so it lasts longer. These tonal and quality improvements make Ivorex fitted guitars especially suited for amplification.

The other day i plugged it up into a soundboard and did a little recording. Oh my gosh... it sounded so sweet. Just like some of the real expensive guitars on the radio sound. It's so tight, never going back on ibanez now, not giving this guitar up for anything!!
Sound
Man, this piece of equipment is amazing. When I walked into the music store i was looking for a solid electric guitar (had just bought a new amp). Anywayz, I looked around a bit, when this baby caught my eye. I picked up other guitars and plucked on them for a bit (all acoustics, mainly fender and some other brands). They all sounded plain and the same the only difference was the price. But when i picked this one up, on the first note i played i could tell a great difference. It sounded..well..good (real good). So, even after coming for an electric, the sound of this guitar was so great, i bought it on the spot. Best decision I've ever made.
Features
I don't know, I just know that a guitar that sounds this good has to have some good features on it. One thing i noticed (on all of them, so it can't be a defect) is that the back is bowed out a bit. It may be part of the sound characteristics...who knows.
Quality
The paint job is awesome. I personally got the marine sunburst. Very good. I came in the store and had hardly ever heard of ibanez, let alone ever think about buying one, i was looking at the gibsons,… read more but now, these are the only guitars i play.
Value
You won't be disappointed. (Unless maybe you go out and buy a $7000 PRS)
The Wow Factor
Bought it on the spot it sounded so good.
