The EMAD2 is a 2-ply version of the popular original. The combination of a 6.5mil and 10mil film offer extreme durability and enhanced attack, while the 2 interchangeable damping rings maximize low-end and allow the player to adjust sustain and feel.

The Head comes with a plastic ring glued to the outside of the beater surface. There are 2 soft foam rings of different sizes, giving an option on how much muffling to apply that fit inside the plastic ring, allowing foam change without disassembling the drum! The tone is excellent, comparable to Remo's Muffls. My favorite part was taking the ring I didn't install and gluing it to the front head for extra dampening! A ridiculous value, it's like getting the muffle for free. I opted for the double-ply model, there are a few variations for different drumming styles. Lastly, I use an unusually sized 20 inch bass drum...and zZounds has them in stock!
