zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Holly head veneer. Non-weight relieved body. Long neck Tenon. Includes case.

In an effort to jump start the steadily declining sales of the Les Paul Model, Gibson decided to abandon the familiar gold finish and use a translucent, cherry sunburst finish which would show off the highly figured maple tops that were often used on Les Pauls. The renamed Les Paul Standard made its debut in 1958. Features include an early '50s rounded neck with a 22-fret Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Burstbucker humbuckers, an ABR-1 bridge with an aluminum stopbar, vintage tulip tuners and a Custom Shop case.

well i can't help looking at other stuff but this would always be one of my main axes.. If i could ever afford it.
Sound
i think this is an awsome guitar. has a nice crisp sound and characterizes fat. sounds great with distortion and warm and full with both clean and distorted tones. i would love to own one of these guitars. i might be a little afraid to take it to a live show but i'd have to get over that.
Features
i thought the materials were top of the line.
Quality
i didn't inspect it to well but all i can say is that i see pictures of this guitar in catalogs and hanging up at guitar stores and i can almost say i am sexually attracted to this guitar.
Value
personally i think the price is a bit outrageous, it's just like a perfected paul. the price is exaggerated.
Manufacturer Support
no. but i hear great things so i'll put 10
