"Great substitution for acoustic piano!"

Feature:
The model only keeps the basic features. If you just want a substitute for the acoustic piano, to play it anytime anywhere, go and get it. Some may concern about the lack of the other two pedals, but seriously for a digital piano, the sustaining pedal is the only pedal you will need. The compact feature and outlook do save you a lot of money, and I bet you will feel the same good when sitting in front of it.

Value:
I've been comparing digital pianos for months and I believe this is the best I can get at this price. Since I don't ask much of the digital features from a piano, this one sufficiently meets my needs,

Desirability:
Yeah, definitely! The cabinet is beautiful. You may notice the different style from 113,223 and 213,323. Since this model (also 223) is a bottom line of the Clavinova series, the outlook, wave sampler and speaker are all of the Clavinova style. The matching bench is of the same wood and color and it's also terrific. The outlook of the set is more beautiful in real life than pics I've ever seen.

Sound:
The sound is just clean, pure and beautiful. No ELECTRICAL feelings at all! Sounds very like a real piano. Play and get the difference. You won't look at other brands at all though they offer much lower prices at the same tech level - their sounds are just so fake!

Ease of Use:
Out of so much redundant features and annoying buttons, the use is not a problem at all!

Support:
Havn't met any yet.

Overall:
This product serves me very well. Once I get back to the acoustic piano from this baby, I don't have to get used to anything at all, and I can see my technics' improving so well!

"Good value for the price."

Feature:
Have only used the piano sound. Reverb improves the overall sound quality

Quality:
For the price, the product is well made and seems durable.

Sound:
Sound is not bad for a low end digital piano. Higher keys sound a bit "tinny" and electronic.

Support:
Haven't used (or needed) support.

Overall:
Great for learning and practicing. Not performance quality, but one would not expect it at the price.

Yamaha Weighted Action at an Affordable Price
If you're sitting on the fence wondering if a digital piano is right from you, then why not let Yamaha, the world's leader in musical instrument manufacturing, help you make the decision? Perhaps you have an aspiring musician in the family and it's time to get them an instrument that more suits their needs. Or maybe you're downsizing and would like an instrument that gives you all the features you want, without the size, weight, and maintenance of an acoustic piano.

The Yamaha YDP113 may be just what you're looking for. First, it has 88 keys, the same as an acoustic piano. Secondly, it has a Graded Hammer weighted action that is about the closest thing to an acoustic that you've ever laid your hands on. Graded Hammer action means that the keyboard emulates the action of a grand piano - heavier in the bass and lighter in the treble areas of the keyboard (on a grand piano, the hammers get thicker as you move from treble to bass). And nobody does this better than Yamaha, one of the most respected manufacturers of upright and grand pianos in the world today. And finally, the sound. The YDP113 features a Stereo Sampled AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) piano sound that feels, reacts and sounds like an acoustic. When you play harder, the sound is louder and brighter. And when you play softly, the sound is quiet and warm. And of course, it never needs tuning!

The Right Tool for the Job
Many parents are faced with having to make a decision of purchasing a keyboard for a child that is going to, or is presently, taking lessons. Maybe you've read that music lessons can increase your child's grades at school and you want to give them the best chances in life to succeed. However, it can be a little daunting if you don't know a lot about musical instruments and, in particular, digital pianos. You're committed to investing enough into the instrument that your child will get the right tool for learning to play so that they'll hopefully stay with it, but not too much in case your child doesn't.

The YDP113 is the right choice for you. The weighted action makes sure that all those hours of practicing are well spent, building strength in the fingers so that a progression to an acoustic piano at a concert or performance is all taken in stride. The stereo-sampled piano sounds beautiful and inspires people to want to play. This too, is important. The 88 keys is an investment in the future so that as the level of playing ability progresses, they won't run out of keys. And for someone that likes to play at all hours of the day or night, a convenient headphone jack allows them to perform to their heart's content without disturbing other family members or the neighbors. The YDP113 is the right tool for the job.

Playing in Tune
If you had an acoustic piano in the family growing up, you can probably relate to this. Most of us know it's a good idea to have an acoustic piano tuned and regulated at least once a year, preferably more. It's part of the regular maintenance of the instrument and insures that whoever is playing on it is playing their piece of music in pitch - something that is very important for ear development. But how many people do you know that actually get their acoustic piano tuned as often as they should? Well, Yamaha Digital pianos never need tuning or regulating. Once you purchase the piano, you can forget about that "maintenance stuff" and just enjoy playing your new instrument. About the only maintenance you'll need to do on a Yamaha digital piano is to spoil it once in a while and dust it!

The YDP113 features a beautiful wood-grain cabinet with dark rosewood finish that fits into almost any decor. Also included is the sustain pedal - a must for playing piano. Other features include MIDI In/Out/Thru for computer connectivity, a built-in Metronome (there's another money saving feature), Digital Reverb, which simulates playing in a church or concert hall, and Transpose, which allows you to play in any key you like (great for family sing-a-longs). The instrument comes with 10 different voices for you to choose from. These include 2 Grand Pianos, 2 Electric Pianos, 2 Church Organs, 2 Harpsichords, Vibraphone, and Strings. And you can combine two sounds at once, like Piano and Strings.

For your learning and listening pleasure, you'll find 50 built-in songs with Songbook. It's a great opportunity to hear exactly how many of your favorite classic piano pieces should be played. Finally, there is a sliding key cover to protect your beautiful investment and a matching padded bench to sit on.

Included accessories: Manual, song book, bench, and stand.

Note: Features subject to change without notice.
